Hi All. Whilst doing an oil change today I was suprised how hot the Voltage regulater gets whilst the engine is running. I appreciate it obviously gets warm due to its finning and being located in the airflow. But should it be too hot to handle (touch)? Any advice out there?

yes !
its doin just what its designed to do,turning excesive voltage into heat !
nothing to worry about!:yes

I wiz wundrin aboot that meself. What I know about electrics you could write on a Smarty with a grease pencil. Given my fight with charging boogums recently, I guess I better educate meself a little more.

And welcome to the Tzone, Tap. A silly place at times, but a great bunch of lads (and evlin!!) to while away an hour or two. Lots of real info to to keep our little gems running in tip top shape!!

Thanks for the advice Charley T it has put my mind at ease, off down through France to the Swiss Alps in a couple of months and didn't want me scratching spoilt or any niggling doubts. Can focus now on taunting the Gendarmes!!
