vibrations in right hand?

Hi guys im just back on the road again after three years, was still on two wheels, moto cross, so I know about arm pump/death grip.
The few time I've had my 2003 tuono out my right hand get numb atfter 20 mins of riding, I did think of death grip because of the way these pull, but then set my open hand on top of the throttle, and still went numd.
There is definitely vibration coming through the bars, but its only affecting my right hand.
Anyone know what this could be?

Thanks in advance for your reply
Rab

PS I know the numb hand jokes, I know you though of it to! LOL

I had a Ducati Hypermotard like that.I changed the standard grips to the softer superbike ones,...that helped.
Mind you,my hands are fooked from using power tools and hammer drills.
Oh yeah,.....what 'bar end weights have you got?Standard or nasty aftermarket items?

You're not alone on this Rab, I have the same thing going on - rode the bike for an hour on Friday and had three numb fingers. I've changed grips to soft pro-grip which made no difference (though they are grippy and comfortable). I'm riding pretty relaxed, the original bar end weights (which are well heavy) are on and the bike doesn't seem particularly vibey - I was was beginning to think that it was just me!

I serviced the engine during the winter including valve clearances and new plugs but I didn't bother balancing the throttle bodies - anybody think that would help smooth things out a bit more?

After checking for decent bar end weights, and grips....that's the first thing I'd be looking at.
These motors are normally stupidly smooth for a v60 twin.

Yea thery are standard heavy weights, nothing loose and even though I just rested my hand on top of the throttle I still got it! Cant work out why its only my right hand ?????

I've done a bit of research on this and it appears that it's primarily down to the riding position putting pressure on a nerve - seems to be a really common problem for cyclists. I tilted my bars forward (up) slightly to reduce downward pressure across my palms. I rode to Cornwal & back at the weekend and the only time that my fingers went numb was a very dull stretch of dual carriageway at sustained speed of 90-100.
My conclusion is that the problem is really with my ageing body rather than any kind of problem with the bike!
