Valve shims

I need to change 7 out of the 8 shims & went to my local Aprilia dealer & he wanted £12.50 each for them

how f**kin much, last time I did them he did an exchange service & only charged 2 quid each. So anyone know where to get these at a reasonable price or is there an alternative :dunno as I can't justify in my mind paying over 80 quid for 7 second hand shims

AF1 do a complete shim set (3 of each of shims from 1.85 to 3.25mm in 0.05mm increments) for 75.99 USD. AF1 Racing : Aprilia Parts and Accessories: Valve Shim Kit For all V990: Mille, RSVR, Tuono... -

You could do yours and have heaps left over to sell on to others in future for less than the quoted cost of 7 from the dealer.

Done a bit of research & not only do KTM use the same shims but so do Harley V rods, 1125 Buells & BMW adventurers
KTM & HD shims are cheap as chips :biggrin Called P&H motorcycles in Crawley today & their service department do a KTM shim exchange service for £2.00 per shim :thumbup result

??not sure why you asked this on a thread for shims

But any purpose made twin system for the mile by arrow,ackropovic,Leo Vince ,etc

Fit a falco system with a few mods.....modify a gen2 system
