Valve check service !!

Just had the 12000 mile valve check service done ...

Had everything crossed that they didnt need adjusting but no chance ..... Â£814 later .... ouch !!

They did have new factories down there though .. Â£12400 .. tempting !!

Ouch, that's a lot of cash!!!! Mine is due in a couple of hundred miles but as I'm 14hrs by ferry to the mainland UK ill probably just do it myself over the winter, fingers crossed its not too big a job!! Now, has anyone got a workshop manual they could email me........???

You will also need the various Aprilia lock up tools if they need adjusted.

Doh, typical, oh well, lets hope the valve clearances are ok or its a very very expensive trip to get them sorted!!!! :banghead

Bike does feel better for it though , it does get a hammering on track quite a bit so its worth doing ..... but im still crying about the Â£814 .. my old Tuono's seemed cheap now !!

Think yourself lucky.

Mine was double that as it needed new inlet cams and followers :thumbdown

Having my 14 plate serviced at Wheels in Peterborough, Â£988 with 5 valves which need re shimming, ouch, ouch fekkin ouch. Plus Â£370 for new tyres and MOT. Going down the pub!!

My 2007 Gen 2 V twin T just had its valves checked at 32k....

None needed adjusting..... its just as its left the factory - no shims have ever needed changing.

the more i hear about the V4 it just puts me off.

Is the 1100 as "bad" as the 1000 ?
