I've not been on here for a long time. I've got a 2008 gen 2, and thinking of getting a 2014 V4.
I've read a lot of the posts on here, and I think I've made up my mind to trade up tomorrow.
Just a few of things I wanted to clear up, does the V4 need a US Side stand? If so, will the fireblade one I have on the V2 fit?
Is it worth getting the V41100 seat?
Has anyone regretted swapping from the V2?
Do the rear tyres last any longer compared to V2, as I'm ripping through Road Pilot 3s every 1200 miles at the moment.

I used to find the seat comfort depends on how long the tank lasts. If you're getting 1200mls out of a rear tyre, I would think the tank fills are quite often..lol... I put the 1100 seat on my 14 and love it compared to the original plank. I tour a bit at legal speeds and get 125mls (200k) between fills so I sit on it a while between stops. The RR seat is the one to get if you want to have a bit of grip and similar pattern to the stock tuono seat.

If you have the old stand change it before you sell the Gen 2.
1200 miles is *****, :dunno. How the **** does that happen?

So the Fireblade stand for the V2 will fir the V4. That's good.
I've had the Gen2 for almost 5 years, and the most I've ever had out of a rear tyre was 1500.
I'm in Ardnamurchan (Over the ferry from Fort William). I think it's the combination of V2+rough road surfaces+no polis = rear tyres that last a few trips up north (Caithness)

Bought 2014 V4 today. Hopefully they'll send it up by the weekend. Seems like the Fireblade stand doesn't fit the V4R.
