Using clutch fluid ??

Hi all,

Quick question for ya here. My bike is using clutch fluid which I assume means the seal in the slave cylinder is fecked. So where does the fluid that is passing the seal go ? and is it damaging anything else ? I guess I gotta sort it soon but just wondering if its ok to still use the bike for a bit until I do :dunno

Thanks, Richie

I guess the fluid is dribbling around the sprocket cover and then out of the back of the bike. There is not that much fluid in the system to cause any long term damage.
I'd get it fixed asap, coz you just know the seal will blow at the most inconvenient time.

agree with K here pal, for what its worth you may try changing the the slave for a lighter feel.

Cheers guys, hopefully Griff will be fitting an Oberon slave tomoz when he's up in Liverpool on tour. I like the sound of a lighter clutch. Do ya know if it takes more travel at the lever to operate the clutch with the aftermarket slave, being they have a bigger piston inside ?

got one on mine, just feels a lot lighter, but saying that, i went from me tuoldo with shorties, to the new un with oberon already fitted, and longer standard levers.
