!!! URGENT !!! Need help getting part FAST <<-------

Guys,

Im fooked at the minute. :roll Basically the Northwest is this Saturday and last night while fitting front wheel I snapped one of the pinch bolts in the fork leg. :roll Bugger.

The problem seems to be that my fork pinch bolts are different to everyone else. Everyone I have asked for a replacement offers me an M6 bolt. My forks are using a threaded pin that screws into the back of the leg and a nut that screws down onto this threaded pin.

Does anyone know where the fook I can get this pin ASAP :dunno. I urgently need it. All help will be greatly appreciated. :dowhat

If you cant get one at least your already over there, Portadowns not a million miles away from Portrush and theres always the bus

Wish I was going this year but funds wont allow it so have a guiness for me when you get there :thumbup

Thanks Sprocker, It promises to be huge this year. I was up on Saturday to see how preperations were getting on. They have a lot more stalls at the start, finish and York Corner. Looks impressive.

Hottrout, I don't think that's the original pinch bolt for the ohlins forks. If you can get a bolt to fit of the right length it will do the same job. Just make sure you torque the bolt to the ohlins setting, or even better slightly less (9Nm). I know a few people that have torqued the bolts to the Showa settings (22Nm) and have cracked the casting right along from edge to edge, very expensive repair.

My torque wrench does not go as low as 9Nm (that I can read anyways). 9Nm is not much.

thanks for that Spooky, you have just confirmed what another Ohlins Expert has told me. He recons that my forks were the very first 10 pairs ever used in the Mille (as the 2003 RSVR was the first Mille to have the Ohlins with Radials) and were actually originally Superbike team forks that they used up.

I think I am going to replace them with M6 bolts instead.

Am I correct in saying that the bolt I need is

M8 x 1.25 x 30mm

If so does anyone know where I could buy these in titanium or such.

M6 x 30mm 1.25 pitch NOT M8. Probolt have them in Ti but don't know if you'll get them by the weekend, it's worth a try though.
