Urgent help needed!

All, I need some help/advice. I'm currently in Switzerland on day 2 of 7, having just blasted down the B500 from Baden-Baden. Unfortunately today, my '07 Tuono suddenly decided to start, sounding as though the battery was completely flat (didn't even turn over) It was red hot (almost constantly in the 90's) and just didn't want too start. SERVICE can on the dash. I swapped my battery over with my mates BMW GS1200 and it has now run perfectly for 130miles and once bumped started his has run fine as well. Firstly, if I keep riding it with his battery, will it damage anything on my bike and secondly if it starts running rough again, can we just keep changing the batteries over??

Thanks in advance. Please give me good news, I've got the alps to tear up!!

sounds to me like a possible stator / reg rec problem, swapping batts over may be a fix butt I think it may cause more probs mate.
hope you get sorted

Whats the battery charging at? That will give a clue if stator or not.
Has your battery held its charge on your mates bike?

Yeah the battery is holding charge on his bike. when my bike was dead, it said my battery was at 11.2???

easy way to check if the stator is fried: remove the oil filler cap and have a good sniff of the oil tank, if it smells like tar then its fooked
