Just fitted a 2006 CBR1000RR sidestand (£16.00 off ebay) to my 08 Tuono took 10 mins and has made the bike a lot more stable and given me more confidence that it'll still be standing when I return to it.

The major reason that I changed it is that I'm off on a tour of France, Italy etc. in a few weeks and the old one didn't fill me full of confidence.

i am also scared stiff my wheels will be on its side one day,,,,,can you tell me which bit you replaced,,,,,eg the stand only or the whole unit including switch?

cheers marty

All you need to do is leave the original Aprilia bracket on the bike. Take the switch off then the stand replace the stand with the CBR1000 stand and use the original Aprilia bolts.

Hope this helps.

Side Stand

Hi, mine is being prep'd for delivery and never owned a Tuono before, what's the gen with the side stand.

Yeh good idea to change, mine has fallen over and caused a few quids worth of damage. So if you can change it the originals are crap!

Are the FireBlade (1000RR) stands different at all, I note there's a couple from a couple of 08 Blades on fleabay at the moment.

Would an 08 stand fit d'reckon???

Not sure I know the 06 Blade stand fits with no modification. If you could get hold of one it's worth it.

Mine hasn't fallen over on the original stand but from looking at it and leaning the bike with me next to it I don't think it would take a lot for it to fall over.

I used the original switch. It fits the Blade sidestand. So it's a very quick fix.
