un-baffled can

Hi,

I just wanted to ask you guys something.

I purchased a 2003 mille with some kind of aftermarked slip-on. Don't know what kind, there's no name or logo anywhere in it.

Anyway, the baffle is missing and I just wondered if a remapping is requiered if I get my hands on a baffle that fits.

Also, I did't get the mapping data with the can, is it possible to read that that from the PowerCommander and save it ?

Not quiite sure what you mean roughrider, but your mille will run fine on the standard ECU chip with your race can irrespective of whether the baffle is in or out. However one thing to check is that the ECU wire snip derestricton has been carried out to activate the second race map. A Power Commander and dedicated map will then be the way forward

On the PC3's you can download and save your map that exists within the unit. Always save a copy of the original before you start tinkering around with it.

Just ensure that when you capture it you call it the original map and date time stamp it. e.g. Original map 05/03/2009 15.00hrs

So when you start playing around with maps etc... you don't get lost in a huge pot of maps.

It can happen trust me.

Erm... what?

Have got my PC3 and my cans on my bike now but havn't heard of this?

Is it worth it?

Is it hard to do?

Is it advisable?

Will i blow up my bike being mechanically retarded and set the damned thing on fire?

tried to find a link in the 'How to' bit but couldn;t find it.

All pre 2003.5 UK RSV mille's have 2 maps on their ECU. Most bikes have had the deresticted map activated by the supplying dealer at first service, however some didn't get done.
