Hi all, I know most of you understand the differances between the two side stands however as a new owner I couldn't find photographic evidence to help me decide if buying a USA stand was going to make the differance I wanted. Unhappy with the small footprint made by the original stand and wheels I bit the bullet and bought a USA version, the differance is exactly what I wanted, the USA stand is approx 1.5 inches longer, the angle it potrudes from the bike is greater so the footprint with the wheels is much greater and the contruction of the stand is much thicker and as a result much stronger, apparently it can take the weight of rider and pillion as well as holding the bike upright. Attached are some photos showing the differance between the 2 stands (sorry I should have cleaned my old stand before taking them ) The last picture is trying to show the differing angles. I hope this info helps anyone contemplating upgrading their stand...do it you won't regret it.

Good advice.
I bought a US version, albeit a little late.
My bike got blown over at the Pondo.
Cost over £600 to sort out.

US stands...highly recommended...and for those that can't get a US one, the next best bet is the Blade stand.

Hi Rizla, I did find your great write up however as your bike was a V4 I wasn't sure how relevant it would be to my Gen 2, as it turns out the results are the same.:thumbup

Funny how Aprilia like to keep making the same mistakes through the generations [emoji1]

Too true! "If we don't learn from the mistakes of the past we
are destined to repeat them!". ;). (Variation of famous G.Santayana quotation).

After a fall over (only broke a blinker-$15aus from Spain) I put on the 2007 fireblade stand. It looks to do the same improvements, a must do for Gen 1 Tuono's.
