Am selling my 2001 RSV R I have been using it for track days but now am looking for something newer.

There are no numbers on engine or frame the bike was built from a cat c by a mate. I would be looking for offers around £1800 for the bike. Can deliver for agreed price.

I may break if I get enough interest it's got the usual goodies:
Ohlins forks and rear shock
Ohlins steering damper
OZ Wheels
Harris adjustable rearsets Left peg scratched
Harris Titanium exhaust system
All other bits as well
PM me for pics or sensible offers
PC III

Why are there no frame or engine numbers if its a CAT C? That classification is panel damage only so can be returned to the road?! Even a CAT B would have an engine with numbers! only the the frame needs to be destroyed?!

Is this a stolen bike that has had the numbers removed so as to hide its history?

No it isnt the lad I bought it off had owned the bike from new he removed the numbers so it wouldnt be returned to the road, for reasons that have nothing to do with you. I would suggest you dont make accusations such as that. I have never dealt in stolen anything let alone motorcycles.

I dont think D was accusing you of anythin, he simply asked a question. You need to realise that people are very weary of this kind of advert with good reason, would you give a full reciept with your full name and address and can the bike be viewed at your home, also would there be any other paperwork to back up your story, otherwise you might struggle to sell.

:roll grow up ffs what are you 10 years old!!! these are questions that will be asked if you're selling something that has had its ID removed :jack by the by I've never heard of someone removing an ID from a legitimate vehicle.

Sounds dodgy by saying his reasons were nothing to do with anyone but himself. If its all legit then he should be happy to explain, otherwise I wouldnt hand over hard earned cash. Plus being so agressive in your reply will only turn people off asking questions about it.

**** wish I hadnt bothered straight to ebay then, yes I would give a receipt and I have old MOT's etc, service history and written statement and stamped when numbers removed.

No I am not 10 yrs old Deacs, but do like the self potrait you have put on your posting

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ man you bite. Deacs was asking a legit question, the same one any sane person should/would ask when buying something like this as taking the numbers off doesn't make much sense, whatever your reasoning for it. Ya gotta give a bit of leeway in your consideration of someones questions before you jump in and bite they're head off otherwise ya gonna struggle to make friends let alone sell stuff. Good luck ol boy

whats that the sarcastic rolling eye look! ;)

Of course! I didn't mean the scratchin your chin green one!
Didn't realise I wouldn't make any friends, bugger will have to see the pshyciatrist again.
Bike no longer for sale will sell me other one instead, I know the history and I know the reason, but that means I will need a road legal bike again. ; )

Coppers have been confiscating bikes with no frame or engine numbers at track days - there is simply no legitimate reason for them to be missing

:thumbup tis why I originally asked the question, but careful Pb the lad trying to palm it off might cry into his cornflakes again and tell ya you're being nasty to him :roll

mmm... still looks like, and smells like, fish.

Maybe we should have a competition to see who can come up with any legitimate reason to remove serial numbers from frames/engines? ;)

I won't be winning.

Rob :)

Ghost Rider would have a legitimate reason to remove numbers from the frame and engine. When he gets caught and refuses to confirm his identity, they can't trace the bike back through the registration system..

I guess a fingerprint sample would confirm it though ;) but still I like where you're going with this :D of course you've just given this chump a good reason the next time someone asks him :roll

Your fingerprint can only be sampled with your consent ;)
Although i agree the whole thing looks dodgy on paper, it's unfair to initially assume that he's a criminal and is trying to pull a fast one. Make your opinions known by not buying the bike.
