UK Number Plate lettering size?

Hi folks

Does anyone no the legal size for the lettering/numbers on a motorcycle vehicle registation plate in the UK i cant find this information anywhere?

I want to be sure the plate thats currently on the bike will pass the MOT.

Thanks Alan, still doenst give an exact size of the lettering though it does say the plate has to have a british standard number which i think mine doesnt.

Looks like a trip to halfords :rant

Character Height
64mm
Character Width
44mm
Character Stroke
10mm
Space between characters
10mm
Space between groups
30mm
Top, side & bottom margin
11mm
Space between vertical lines
13mm

Stick to 8" x 6" and the MOT tester will leave you alone.

No fancy italic lettering of pictures of your naked missus on the yellow background either.

He'll just leer at the picture for 30 minutes before issuing you a VT30 failure notice. LOL

LOL Alan.

My plates completely standard with no fancy text though its slightly smaller than the legal requirement. No doubt they wont notice but i dont think ill take the chance. £13.69 for new one at halfords, oh well ill swap it back over after the MOT :biggrin
