it's horrible stuff, a very temporary fix but it never works that well you'd be better off having a rep and air kit under the seat like this one

i defo agree them kits are brilliant ,i was in scotland (oban) when i had to use it middle of nowhere it puts enough air in to get you to a garage . I know you should get em repaired or replace as soon as poss but i ran the tyre till it was dead and the repair was fine when the tyre came off i checked it inside , it takes approx 10 mins to be on your way again .

Buy one !!!!!!!

I used slime a few years ago for a trip to france,i was told it would un balance the tyres and it would'nt stop punctures and it would send the bike into a death wobble at anything over 80 mph.well it did'nt do any of that,it worked ok.when i got back to the uk,i noticed that there was a small slither of flint in the rear tyre,so i pulled it out to see if this slime worked..a small pppsst of air came out and then it sealed.i havent had any trouble using it but my brother put some in his tyres and when he got a puncture,it failed to seal it :dunno.

mark

ps its true that the tyre fitters hate the stuff,it makes a right mess

Slime.I found a few years ago on my Bmw(R11ooRT)it threw the wheel balance well out(yet an original claim was.....it added to the balance).Very dangerous!Punctureseal is a better product(will seal many punctures). As it did on a 1200mile trip to Spa gp circuit,Belguim. But still slightly unbalanced, which can't be corrected.Stick with the repair kit

I have also tried that can of bollocks that you use on car tyres ,it just shoots white foam all over your pride and joy and then takes 2 years to totally get off ,every time you wash your bike you find some more stuck to it , its dries like glue and didnt seal th tyre

total crap

Think that sums that up then...............

I had some in my mountain bike once....in Cyprus I kept getting "spikey normans" in my tyres, so I put the gunk in, and it worked. When I took the tyre off much later on to change it, I has 47 punctures in my inner tube......ha ha ha, good stuff for MTB's though.

I just bought a repair kit for my Mille for touring, I have seen 3 people use them, on SOT a few years ago, one guy (Badgers Rellie I think) used one on his rear, a day later he went past me on this Blackbird (Was it????) with the repair still holding at 180....crazeeeeeeeeee.

i had a new pirelli corsa on my 636 and 2 days later i found a small screw in it, so filled it with green tyre slime, to be safe till i could get it to my tyre fitter.

On the way there, about 50mph, my tyre blew the screw out along with a great trail of green lime all over me and the rear end of the bike, so i ended up getting the bike recovered to the tyre fitter, only to be told that cos i had used slime in my tyre, it now couldn't be repaired, so ended up forking out for another new one.

Since then, i have never put anything in my tyres other than air, and always carry my rac card with me.
