I know the common sizes are either 190/55/17 (currently fitted to my bike) or 180/55/17 but has anyone tried the new to supersport 180/60/17 size?
Any good or not?
I intend to only buy scrubs for the rest of my life as rubber is really expensive and these have started getting common from last year so I am sure there will be loads on offer this race season too!.

Not necessarily tyres are designed to withstand many heat cycles. The majority of the time the scrubs have been through a few or even 1. Road temps will hardly ever put a tyre through a heat cycle unless ridden very hard.

I have always bought new tyres but fitting scrubs will save money and gove you awesome rubber.

I would be interested to hear more opinions and do appreciate the ones above and I can agree that some scrubs are not safe.

race tires need to be up to temp in order to offer good grip, cold race tires are worse than cold street tires... but each to their own! :)

i have used race scrubs for the last 5 years and never had any problems but you do need to get heat in them, i have a 60 profile on and the min but you need to take the hugger off to get it in and is very close to the swing arm. i will be changing it back to a 190/55 for the spring, i get them at £60 a set so theres no way im going to pay £260 for a set

Well currently running a set of D211 GP Racers which are scrubs and they are the stickiest tyres I have ridden. So far no nuns or kittens have been harmed.
I ride in the wet too and as long as you dont take the piss there is no problem with them. A bit of spin up on the throttle but nout too scary.
All of these tyres are road legal I am not talking about running slicks on the road, that would be silly!
These bikes are superbikes after all not tourers so should really be wearing sporty rubber for summer fun!!!

Is it a 180/60 or a 190/60?

I need to find a good source for scrubs, anyone who knows someone or a website hit me up!!

Would ideally like some michelins I love sticky tyres in the summer :D

It's a 180/60, I have a 200/55 I might try but I don't think it will fill past the chain I find 190/55 is perfect and that's what most racers use
