Tyre Pressures

Now i'm sure this is gonna create some debate but i'd like to know what everone else is running.
I have Pirelli Diablo Rosso's on an 08 Touono R and am running the pressures at 35 front, 39 rear... which is just under wot the recomended pressures of 36 and 40.
Bear in mind i do ride like I'm chasing Rossi most of the time... there are no 'Chicken Strips' on the edges but....and tis a fine well rounded Butt!.... i dont think i'm getting enough tyre deformation when its cranked all the way over.

sooooooooooo has anyone had better results running lower pressures??

Different tyres, different bike, but I run those pressures when having to slab it a bit.

When I think Rossi is trying to catch me I usually run around 33F 35R, depends on how fast he's coming or the temperature. I might crank them up to 34-35F & 36R or so.

I'll drop them another 2 or so for a track day.

for the street? i run 32f/39r...again though like steve, different bike...different tire.

Somewhere I have written down what the recommended hot pressure is for those tires...course it would take some math and trial and error to get the right street pressure.

I'd say if you're not slipping all over the place and still getting good wear, you're in the right zone for tire pressure.

I use the kick method for checking pressure. Assuming I can kick the tyre and my foot does not hit the inner rim then there is plenty of pressure in them :crazy

Other than that, hard and round is my best advise.

Also different bike and tires, but I run 38F/40R for most riding and 35/36 for those times when Xaus needs chasing. I tried lower pressures (32/33), but then the front end lost some feel and the steering got a bit slower so added a couple psi and it felt good again. Plenty of grip for me.

I think most are in the same visinity... 36f & 40r for me if playing and 38f & 42r when just riding around or on a long trip.. you cant go wrong really as long as its alittle below rec pressure. have fun you lunatics

Hey Mog howd u go with tha pressures?
My new pirelli powers are like bloody glue on the street at 2 or 3 psi below rec pressure (35F & 39R)not had em on track yet...

Difference is huge mate, at std pressures getting ones knee down is at best terrifying :eek as the further you go over the less feel you get, but running the Pirelli Diablo Rosso's at 33 front and 36 rear i get soooo much squishy feed back and the ole sliders can sit on the deck all day.
There's nought more satisfing than parking next to a pure sports bike, looking over to his 'Chicken Strips' and raising an eyebrow... :lol

Ok i will drop mine a couple 2moro and have a play... no knees down for me i wear Icon jeans... have ****** the toes on my new boots as i keep forgetin to move my foot back..
Do run my tyres to the edge but not feathered..
Go on im ***** you know you want to say it... im big enough to cope with the criticism... cheers Towie will let you know how they feel

Nah, you're alright Dood, getting ya knee down. ˈspecially on the T aint really necessary, cos ya got soooo much ground clearance and to honest tis a bit of a streatch...
But like the other forms of Tuono lunacy its fun to do.

You're a load of nutters! My previous ZX636 B/stones were nearly off the edge before it was run in and my new 'T' was right off before first service! Now started hanging off 'T' as I must be leaning over too far to have no chicken strip. Why no knee down? Must be 'cos I'm a sixty year old short arse!
God, I love this TUONO!

Maybe you just need to put on a heap of weight Waker..... at 6"1" and 100kilo it helps compress things alot when i sit on them... not just bikes...
& yeh i love this thing more everytime i ride it... i think we all do
