Got two problems that more than likely are not connected but may be, any thoughts anybody
1. gen 2 Tuono is getting hard to start, gotta give it a wee bit throttle or it dies , I thought the ECU would sort oot any cold starting etc but unless i do this it wont run. it also can stall for first few miles when coming to a stop. This has only started since swapping maps to map 2. its got Quill evo 2's with baffle removed, and is gettin worse

2. Washed bike today and after drying off lifted petrol cap to oil it and there was a heap of water sitting under cap, I did spot this one time before, again since it was in dealer. I assume the wee hole at side of filler cap is an overflow and should drain any rain or water from washing, it aint. Some of the water found its way into the tank.

I assume the overflow, if thats what it is, is routed out the bottom of the tank, could this have been nipped when putting tank back on.
Could water gettin into the tank cause the dodgy startin or is it linked to swapping to map 2.

Any thoughts anybody ?

I had the same thing with the bike cutting oot when changed to map2 and baffles oot. I put the baffles back in and it's ok. I never had a prob wae starting though.
It sounds like the filler overflow is blocked ???

That hole you see is probably the tank vent. And yes you could be getting water in tank. Hard start may be because of no baffles. Put em in and give it a whirl, couldnt hurt yeah?

I have map 2 no baffles and no issues starting I was told if you need to use throttle to start that means the spragg clutch is on it's way out.

Did the Co's get adjusted when the map was changed ???

Yep it could be a fueling/CO problem or mebbe the TPS.The water thats finding its way under the fuel cap does'nt help. You should'nt touch the throttle when starting. There is a stepper motor that takes care of all that. The stepper closes as the engine warms up.So it could be a faulty temp sensor,or summat.
I would take the bike over to a dealer and get it checked over.

Well thats the overflow cleaned out, was blocked just as it leaves bottom of tank and joins hose to bottom of bike. Horrible sticky brown stuff. Bike starts easy enough on 1st press o starter but then cuts out if i dont give it some throttle. this may be one for the dealer to sort out. That aint good as i think they charge 50 quid for just pushing it onto ramp.

Yer an feckin tight arse sheep shagger. Can anyone sort it fir less than zero ???

Cheers Aldo will take that as a compliment, need to save all me pennies to get the best sheep u know. If u do get somebody who will fix it for nowt will let u borrow one o the sheep, sure u could use it to help u relax.

Yer right mucker, i'm in dire need of a sheep.

Hope it's an inexpensive fix for yer and I do know whit yer mean aboot them dealers.

I was talking to my Aprilia spanner man on Saturday whilst having mine serviced, and he says that sometimes it can take more than once to properly set the map when you have it changed, even when using the proper Axone machine. Might be worth getting the map checked, just in case. If you're experiencing rough running as well as stalling, this could be the case.

get the tank and pump cleaned out if water has been gettin in due to the blocked drain then run some injector cleaner to remove any residue in the injectors
then get the map checked and c/o balance reset and maybe a change of plugs also
