Twins test

Yep, as a real world bike, with usable power, i don't think their is a better one :thumbup

just bought BIKE magazine, people are still obsessed with the highest bhp figures and lightest weight ect rather than whats useable and rideable on these pothole ridden crappy u.k roads.how many numptys with more cash than ability are there out on the roads that buy the latest zx10,fit power commandersect before theyve even rode the bike, then head out on the roads wobbling about, scare themselves shitless and sell it within the 1st year and buy a 600 hornet.all the test riders were raving bout the zx10 when it 1st came out cos of the power and speed, now they say its to lairy and unusable.lol
thought the aprilia came out well and looks more aggresive than the duke, dont like the looks of the ktm at all personaly,id take the aprilia or baby duke if i was rich enuff.

I bought an 06 R1 to replace my aging TLS, I did 4,000 miles on it in 5 months before giving up on it as it was way too much power for the road, I now love my factory as the power is so much more user friendly.

a very wise choice sir,i dont like the new r1 at all,not a patch on the original 98 pearlesant white and red un.
the factory is one of the best lookng bikes on the road imo and some of the best colour schemes/grafix/bolt ons available.
even some of the best riders struggle to get anywere near the potential of the the latest superbikes.
my mate and chief mechanic/provider of part scrubbed race tyres for my road bikes races in amateur championship in the darley dales and he use to race a tl1000,but his weapon of choice is the mille r,he swears by em for useable power and handling, looks after all his own bikes.does a race on a set of tyres then flogs em me and my mates for £40 a tyres, they look the boy with all the rubber rolled to the edges lol.

Damn good write up that was. The KTM faired really well and the journalists keep saying that although not top on power what it has is usable. Considering the RSV is now getting on in design years it came a very close second and I think that was more to do with the fact that it is now an old design than ability alone.

Good test..The reason I came to try the Aprilia, was due to getting bored with yet another inline 4..Plus they're getting far too small and more and more peaky..Fine if you just want to ride on track, but for real world use, where you need to sometimes carry a passenger or luggage, the Japs are listening to the journalists too much, smaller smaller lighter lighter..

The new range of European bikes are really coming to the fore, I think..

i agree 100% mate, stupid stupid idiotic tiny fookin bikes.
were not all skinny midgets ffs, theyre cutting off alot of people from being able to buy a brand new bike!

Sorry to buck the trend but it won't be long before im looking to sell my 750 and 'maybe' the mille for a late 1000cc bike. It will be track only use though.
