Any one ever put twin pipes on the gen 1 tuono, im just writing a list of stuff I think i want to mod and figured twin pipes would look great

Roy has done it. Twin Akras. Looks and sounds the dogs bollox. I know he had to fook about with it a bit to get it right. He will be along shortly to tell you what he did.

I have done it they are the dogs bits
Full akra system not much missing about took me 2 hrs to take old ones of. And put full system on

at the minute ive got a 'road legal' hawk pipe on it, is it as simple as finding two of the same pipe and some exhaust pipe to fit it?

or buying a 'twin pack' to get the same exhausts and tubing, alla gen 2 tuono, z1000, zzr14 etc
is your system 2 into 2 or 2 -1 -2

i put a full twin akra system on mine..got the headers, link pipes second hand and the cans were from a gixer thow with the big outlets and removable baffels...it didnt take long to fit down pipes n collectors but took a lot of pissing about to get cans level think mi ne has been in a prang one of the pipes was a bit dented and didnt line up as good as the other ...sorted now looks ace and sounds the dogs danglys...and totally gone has the flat spot at 5k
if you get a second hand one make sure its for the tuono...mine as it turns out is for a millie and the headers are slightly longer so it melted mi friggin belly pan...but got round that with modding n fitting a long belly pan from a millie...try and get one with the thinner link pipes and the smaller outlets on the cans then you can run it without baffels...the fattys sound **** hot on mine but are way to loud without baffels...
and you will need to remap it with a new chip..i recomend a gabrio chip ..just plug n play

no you need change the lot....and gen 2 have different flanges on the manifolds so they wont fit

I had a full Akra system on mine but had an off and slightly damaged one of the cans. Sold the cans/link pipes, bought some stubby cans from a Kwak z1000 and had some link pipes made. A bit too loud for some folk! :blush

The good thing about the Akra system is that the downpipes can be removed without undoing the header bolts, just the springs. :cool3

Getting hold of the right front pipes will be the issue. The one on my old T was a full akra system and they do sound the dogs nuts, but a pukka
Tuono racing TI can sounds equally good. Good luck with your search.

Liking that Moggi :thumbup

I put twin pipes on my gen1 ! Was just a case of welding the gen 1 flanges onto the gen 2 pipes and making sure they cleared the spring and the frame then also missing the starter at the front and jobs a good un. I love the look of twin cans and I couldnt be more happy with mine. Quite easy tbh.
