Right with my first mod under my belt its time for the next. Twin exhausts.
Love the look of the twin exhaust.
See a couple of bike on ebay with them fitted on the 99 and it looks great, weill I like it.

Anyone done it on here and if so what is needed. what system would fit?
Some one told that its a just a bolt on and others have said the head pipe is different on how it bolts on to the head?!?!

I know the belly pan would either need modding or changed but that its

Come guys, I know someone has done it.

If I get this done then my standard can and header pipe and also the remus end can will be up for sale (pay for the twin) :thumbup

Hi Garvey, i've got the twin Akrapovic set up on my 2000 from an Edwards. I'll have a dig around the threads as there is one I posted up when I fitted it. The Akrapovic header pipework lines up no problem at all, but the possible reason why you've been told that the 2-2 set up doesn't line up is from where people have attempted to fit post 2004 2-2 set ups onto earlier models. I understand that the spacing is different.

You are quite right, you will need to cut a section from the left hand side of the rear of the belly pan for the pipework to exit without fouling against the bodywork. I believe Leo Vinci did a 2-2 set up as well similar to the Akrapovic set up. The headers are different from standard, and be advised that if you fit the Akrapovic set up you will need to release the oil cooler to gain enough access to get the front header pipe onto the cylinder head. The exit link pipes by the way are different lengths left and right. On another point, if you have Gilles rearsets including the gear change linkage, then you will need to remove the Gilles gear linkage set up since it fouls on the left exit pipe and won't allow you to change gear :D

The other alternative you have is something like the Renegade set up which retains the original header pipework and then splits the exit pipework into two. Have a look at RSVEcosse, RS3mille or Superteds bike pics for the Renegade look.

Happy to help seeing as i'm not far away. Give me a shout :thumbup

Here is the header pipe setup from the Akrapovic 2-2 (minus front header pipe)

Hi

I've got a set of Renegade headers, cans (with removable baffles) and hangers for sale. If you're interested send my your email address and I'll send some pictures. Currently fitted to an 02 bike, and in good condition.

Yep got the renegade style ones, has a link pipe under the battery above the swing arm, looks ace, i do like the 2-2 system too though.
any questions matey just ask

How much do you think I could sell my standard exhaust system and Remus can for?

Don't the renegade cans use the original headers?

Yep. They do.

Garvey, if you go for Renegades, any questions on 'em just fire away.

Do a search on my username here for further info on the Renegade setup.

I've not got around to posting a vid clip of it yet, but trust me, the highmount Rene's sound absolutely amazing!!.

As I'm sure RS3mille or superted will confirm. :thumbup

caterpillars setup looks brilliant as well, I have to say. :biggrin

Hi

My Renegade pipes have their own non-standard headers - they are 2 into 2.

Yep. They do.

Garvey, if you go for Renegades, any questions on 'em just fire away. Counts for me too and little1 helped me with mine too :thumbup
