Twin can conversion??

Hello again, can anyone shed some light on the difficulties of converting my '00 model single can set up to a twin can system? There are a pair of Mivv gp cans for sale on here and wondered whether this is do-able??

Cheers.................Andi:thumbup

As far as i know the only full twin system that fits early pre 2003.5 RSV Mille are from Akrapovic, Arrow, Leo Vince and Tigcraft.

Later model RSVR systems won't fit as the mounting is different on the cylinder head. Falco headers can be made to fit apparently but there is an issue over them producing less power as the pipe diameter is smaller than the RSV system

Cheers Legs, is it possible to get the link pipe from say an Edwards rep to fit my model and just have the twin cans as opposed to full system?? Or do you know of anyone who makes a single inlet into twin outlet link pipe??

Hi Andi. I fitted an Edwards Akrapovic 2-2 onto my 2000 RSVR. I've posted some pics below of the header pipes, so in answer to you question, no it isn't just a case of getting a link pipe, as the pipes come direct from the header system. By the by, the link pipes are different lengths on either side as well.

You'll also need to make a cut out in the belly pan for the left hand exit, and the system wasn't designed for fitting with the sidestand and you'll find most have a dent underneath the left hand exit where the sidestand strikes it.

As an aside, Lee at Adrenalin Junkie has adapted a set of standard headers for a member on here to be able to fit a pipe either side. Anyone remember who it was? :dunno

Give Mr Looney on here a nudge rockdoctor. The Mille he recently bought came with the Gianelli set up :thumbup

My mate has these on his 52 plate bike, they sound great. As standard you have to bin the pillion footrests, but he bloke who sold him the bike had made up some spacers so they fitted.

That Gianelli system in the link is very similar in looks and construction to my Renegades.

So I would imagine they sound very similar to them, which is not a bad thing. :thumbup

Mine sounds the nuts, imo, i think they look the best too but know people that like just the single pipe, each to their own

I've recently bought a 2-2 Renegade system, which will be going on the bike in the new year, along with a PC3 - all I need now is the Renegade Airbox to go with it ... (01-03). Anyone ....
