TUONO or RSV1000R?

I need some help deciding on which to get. I have my choice of brand new zero km still on the showroom floor 2007 RSV1000R in Black with the Blue wheels or the 2007 Matte Black Tuono with Blue wheels. Has anyone here owned an RSV? They are dead sexy but I am thinking the comfort may become an issue. I am test riding a Red demo 2007 RSV tomorrow but the Tuono can't be ridden. I like the Tuono but I love the RSV. I used to own an RC51 (SP2) and found that uncomfortable so I am leaning towards the Tuono so I spend lots of time on it. I also have a line on Leo Vince exhaust for $500 (brand new) that will fit either bike. I hope they sound better than some of the youtube videos I have heard.

HELP!

The Rsvr is a millimetre bigger than the Sp1/2. I had the Rsvr 08 in white for 18 months and the mates got the Onda so I've got good experience of both.

I went from the Rsvr to the T and its a better bike in every way except looks.

If your T hears you it will quite rightly refuse to start....:bawling it's like your wife hearing you say she's better in every way than the neighbour except looks...:lol

Tuono does it for me and has for the last six and a half years....:thumbup

You're not going to get an unbiased opinion here, are you? ???

TuonoRobbo has just switched from RSVR to Tuono he might give you a more balanced opinion.

For me, I agree with the other two, Tuono all the way, same bike as the RSVR but it doesn't kill your back & wrists, and it doesn't need a clutch bleed every weekend. :)

Batfastard, same here for me as well. I even had a BMW R1200S before I converted and that was calssified as a Sports Tourer. Still killed my wrists and gave me neck ache.

For me it has to be upright bikes all the way
1. Better sight all around for overtaking
2. More comfortable
3. Much easier for everyday all round riding for the speeds we do. Sports bikes are for the track and people throughout Europe wonder why we all go for sportsbikes over here.

Just on riding comfort alone has to be the Tuono for me

You'll love the RSV I'm sure but you really, really, no - really need to go for the Tuono. I had an RSV which I loved and thought I'd never sell but then I had a go on the T. It was a revelation - I'd never had so much fun on a bike. It loves twisty roads, handles superbly, goes like stink and every time I take it out it just leaves me with a huge grin.
On comfort, it's the Tuono again. The RSV is the only bike I've had to lie down on the garage floor to straighten myself up after a 2hour ride. And I'm not that ancient. :unclesam

Fit like S min... welcome ( but yer need tae tak a look at that moniker tho, its hard on the brain ;)

OK so.... Ah have had both. RSV was a **** hot machine tae own and drive and great fun but was a wee bitty difficult tae live with on a day to day basis. Mainly due tae very sporty riding position which was an issue fur me as a used it for everything frae daily commutin tae long weekend runs and quick blasts. Did evri thing it said on the tin plus mair so no real complaints.

However!
Ah would definitely swing towards the T as its way way way mair a practical choice and much comfier wi all the same mad mentalness still lurkin in there ( mibbe a bit mair mental actually)

Of course ahm biased as ah currently got one but ah don,t see me changin it for quite some time as a dinnae think theres much oot there tae match it.

Jist the ramblins o a pickled loon frae Ricoland but mibbe worth sumfin tae ye.

I have both now

The RSV is uncomfortable to say the least although jack up plates helped that, still extreme though and you have to be "on it" to stay comfortable, moving around from cheek to cheek

The tuono is a better position but you then get windblast above 70. My arse also gets sore on the T but not the RSV, down to the hairy posterior I think

For day to day riding touring etc the tuono will be best but for the fast run out with your m8's the RSV will excel

All of which you know yourself its just a matter of choosing what you want

Its not a choice i would like, so ive got both although the wife thinks the T is hers :lol

The exhaust should fit both

Have fun

Well guys. I took the RSV for a run today. It was 8 degrees celcius so not warm but the sun was out. It was my first ride of the year so I was very tentative at first. I can honestly say the RSV is no doubt the absolute best handling, most responsive, utterly waaaay too much bike for the street I have ever ridden. I have owned a 2003 CBR954RR (Fireblade to you blokes!), SP2 with Ohlins internals in the stock fork and an Ohlins shock, all kinds of 600's and 3 ZX-9R's. The RSV is amazing! The bike has the Akro's on it and sound great but the Black with blue wheels bike is still the crate and doesn't come with pipes but I am sure the Leo's will sound just as good. I am leaning towards the RSV as I can't get a ride on a Tuono. I rode the RSV for an hour with no wrist, back issues. I have very little weight on my wrists when I ride though. A good habit I carried over from my motocross days. Thanks for the help deciding and I will post my final decision and say hello or goodbye and move to the RSV board. I posted the same question over there last night and I am about to go see what the folks said. Cheers!

S min, yer right there. The RSV is exactly all that. But wi' oot ever test drivin a Tuono how dae ye think can ye mak a educated decision.

Nae point in askin fur opinions otherwise is thir :dunno

ok so I bought the RSV! I got a message from a local guy that offered me a ride on his Tuono this weekend. I guess I could change my mind but the guy guy came up with a good reason for me to get the RSV. He simply said the Tuono is a great bike but if the RSV lights your fire you will enjoy it more.

Cheers guys and I am sure I will own a Tuono next. I am in love with the performance of the Aprilia and can never go back to Honda or Suzuki after riding this super model of a machine.

Well, it was always your decision Superclean, but if you're going to spend £££ why not wait for the weekend and give the Tuono a go? Either way, you'll love the bike whichever it is!
