Hi guys.
Looking for some help here I am currently on holiday in Portimao Portugal I was to attend a track event at the Algarve autodrome. I only done one sighting lap and my bike developed a mis fire , changed the two plugs also the H/T leads the bike would start easy enough and rev fine as soon as the bike got to running temperature the mis fire re appeared. I was due to have three days on track but did not even complete one lap. Any suggestions to what May have caused this mis fire.
Thanks guys Paul.

hi lewie.

i,m in wigan. and its raining.

i suggest portugal is too hot.

if its any help.............. my missis has the fire on.

nice place Portimao I go to the Algarve every year for my jollies and never have a problem with the bike as its always at home in the garage

Lewie mate.....hello.

We're a bunch of grumpy *******s here....you've probably guessed that by now.

Forum etiquette is such as not to jump in with a question on your very first post.

A simple hello or introduction, such as....'I am **** and I come from *****, and ride a ****'. would suffice.

Be useful to know what bike we're dealing with too I recon ;)

Ive never been to Portugal,...I bet its nice.I have been to Italy a few times,...that was nice.
Been to Spain a couple of times,...that was nice too.

A missfiring T is not nice.
Apart from plugs/leads,what else have you checked?Give us a clue here,...model/year would be good for a start.

Posted introduction in lobby guys sorry for my lack of awareness .

Temperature related misfire, Sounds electrical, possible stator.

PS, Good into on the other post. A bit late, but at least you have not taken the huff or chucked your toys out of the pram.

Agree with OT,could be electrical, like the battery or stator. If there is no service light of doom or fault codes.beg, steal or borrow a multimeter and check the charging.
You haven't got an alarm fitted, have you?

No alarm fitted put a new battery on only before leaving for Portugal two weeks ago ,the service lights have been disconnected as it's a race/track bike . On the display of the bike it says the battery is charging at 14.4 amps.

I'd still get a multi meter on it mucker..

good look, electrics can be a reet bugger.

Warning lights disconnected?Was that wise?
Ok,so the charging sounds as if it's doing its job,...could be a sensor. You should get a fault code or warning light,...but yours have been disconnected,...you know what I'm saying?
Could be the vacuum pipes under the tank split or come adrift.

How have the warning lights been disabled? What else has been disconnected?

TBH don,t know it was like it when I bought it off a guy who raced in Thundersport GB championship was at Jerez last Oct for four days on track and she never missed a beat. I go home on Friday pick bike back up Saturday so I will be able to have a good look around. Vacuum pipes all on its soooo frustrating :bawling

Oh dear,...non standard bike usually means non standard problems.
I think I'd give Griff a call at Aprilia Performance. He may even know the bike.

More info please.

Hi Guys.

Think I have solved the misfire problem it was the ignition coils I have replaced but now I have a very low idle speed. I have searched my CD Rom and unless I am blind I can not see how to do this simple job. How on earth do you alter the tick over I don,t think I have ever been this frustrated with one of my bike,s. I think I will go back to a Japanese bike:banghead

ah ah, i can smell a disheartened owner........

this is when some other fud steps in, solves the issue, and gets a blindin ride fer nowt !!!

stick with it pal, its worth it.

i do think the tick over can only be sorted on a pc whatsamajiggy... could be wrong like
