Hi All,

New member from Australia. Thought it would be polite to say hello before I bombard you with questions!

OK now thats taken care of....!

I am picking up a 2004 Tuono next week as I have always loved them and now I have my chance. My only concern is size. I am 6'3' and 125kg, not exactly a small unit. I was always under the impression that Tuono's are tall decent size bikes. I always loved the idea of an italian twin I could actually fit on.

In my research I have looked at the reviews etc and they all mention it is roomy. I have now looked at a few clips on you tube and either the riders are quite tall or it is not as big as I imagined.

I have only had the chance to sit on the later model as the bike I am buying is quite some distance away. I have owned a 2002 Speed Triple and found that great. Is the Tuono on par with the speedy??

I only have the budget for one bike and I dont want to have to squeeze myself onto it. I dont really give a toss if people think I look to big (i look pretty big on everything, and I dont want a cruiser!)as long as I am comfortable.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

I took a 2005 Tuono out when I was in Oz around Cairns, thats the only time I have been on the older shape, fitted me fine and im 6'1 I think its a bigger bike than the speedy.

They suit fatties, I should know. And you can always drop the pegs a bit if you've got long legs. The Tuoldo's are comfier imho.

oww doo btw

Thanks for the fast replies. So you think i should be right?

Tuoldo's is that a typo or do I need educating?

I think the tuoldo's are taller bikes than te Gen 2's. I'm 5'11 to 6' and I find it very comfortable. I wouldn't have thought u being 3 inches taller would have made that much difference in comfort at all. Hope that helps. I'm a few of lighter though but I'm sure that won't make heck of a lot of difference to the bike either.

Both great bikes

Windy rides a Tuoldo, looks ok on him and isn't he 6'4" or 6'5"?

The common thinking is that you sit ON a Tuoldo and IN a Tuono.

All I know is that my Tuoldo is plenty big enough for me with my huge height.....:)

Oh, and I want that bellypan from that pic of the Tuoldo above for mine!

Sounds positive. I cant wait to pick it up. It is beautiful black.

Had some nice mods done.

Any little must do mods on the Tuoldo's?

Best use the search I suppose!

Use the search!! That Q been asked many times, most recently about a week ago:

Personally, mine has better starter relay and battery as its a big old lump to turn over and the clocks drain the battery over time.

Most have changed can (getting mine soon), and had suspension set-up (mine done).

Most have changed gearing - smaller front sprocket and larger rear. Front is 17t standard on Tuoldo so change to 16. 40t rear so change to 42. Done on mine before I had it.

Don't worry you'll love it :thumbup

Cool nothing drastic then. I have only heard good reports about reliability.

Its got a Leo Vince can

Wilbers rear shock and front end work

And has the smaller front sprocket.

Should do for a while before I have to play with it.

Fuggly stock mirrors must go though. Maybe some nice barends...

I fancy the Pipewerk SL in black (street legal - removable baffle)- heard good stuff about them.

Welcome Bear. Glad to see you didnt make the same mistake I did by not intro your self. The lads wouldve gave you a bit of *****. Eventually theyd come round. Good folks on here with great info. More than your share of frivolity and good hearted jokes abound. That said Im 6'1" tall and weigh a " supple " 250 lbs. I fit well enough on the "Tuoldo" Thats gen 1 in Zoner. Tuonew is the Gen 2 and not sure what were calling the V4 other than unobtainable. Read up, and good luck with the new scooter.

Welcome Bear min, am 6'1'' and 14 and half stone and its plenty big enough fir me. Enjoy the grin after use it stays fir a while
