Hi guys, I am looking at getting a Gen 2 Tuono. I love the look of these two bikes.
2009/59 Aprilia Tuono 1000R - LOW MILEAGE/FSH/AKRAPOVIC EXHAUSTS/CRASH BUNGS | eBay

and

***2010 Aprilia Tuono 1000R***Provisionally Sold*** | eBay

The black looks good but I am open to other colours. The question I have is with this model I have noticed you can get Akrapovic, Arrows or Leo Vince (spelling) pipes. It there one I should insist on waiting for or are they all fairly similar.

I think I have just missed the second one which would have been nice and it has some nice Ohlins bits. This model of Tuono never came with Ohlins did it?

The Tuono Factory bikes had the Ohlin bits, but the "regular" Tuonos did not come with them. As for the different brand of pipes, can't help you there, but mine has Akrapovics and I love them!
 
Hi Tav,

Had me worried there for a minute - the Colchester one is identical to mine...thought itd been nicked!

The Akras arent too loud, but Ive heard that the Arrows can be a bit more so, fine if thats your thing.

To be honest, exhausts are the easiest things to change if you find you dont like what it comes with, so I personally wouldnt stress too much.

Whatever you choose, welcome to the fold ad have fun.
 
I went passed a park policeman in his nice BMW on Saturday doing about 70 and he clearly wasn't bothered about the lovely tone of my Arrow cans :lol
 
The 2010 bike is/was mine.It was sold after one day of the advert.
The fella is coming to pick it up thursday.

Keith, I noticed in one of your eBay pix that your left hand switch gear has a lights off switch ( am I right? ) if so where did you get it and how much?

Nope,..standard Gen2 switchgear.
Red button is hi/lo beam the other switch is the trip/mode.
 
Gutted to read this thread KB, I know how much yer love yer Italian machinery especially Vee twins.

But they are only machines, you are The Indispensable Font of Knowledge. :yes

To everyone else,thanks for the kind messages.My health issues mean a T is just too much for me.I have been kidding myself over the last 6 months that things will get better.
I've got my head around it now,so its got to go.Still got the Harley for fettling and gentle rides and no doubt I'll still look in an post my usual load of old bollocks.:lol
