Well, had the bike 4 days now, and despite the persistant rain have managed to get up to 600 miles already!

Thought I would share some pictures of the trips I took around the Scottish Borders, so here goes:-

This is the road through the Yarrow Valley from Moffat to Selkirk:-

So that was trip No.1, hope you enjoy the photos, if so, I am happy to post photos of Trip No. 2 to Dumfries, Carlisle, and Eskdalemuir via the Tibetan Centre - let me know if you would be interested! I would hate to bore you all!

By the way, I saw barely a dozen cars all day and not a single cop!

I really really hate you! :lol
I ran mine in by going from London round to yarmouth then back via northampton.... and i saw over 50 speed cameras, fixed mobile and Plod waving speed guns.

Love your work Rob and the pics are great. I live back in Oz now but did live in Edinburgh about 10 years ago, think it was westicoat gardens my bosses holiday pad.... Love the bike love the pics now my mrs wants to go back there... i said the weather is no good, not even close and i hate you also after seeing the pics...... cheers Towie

Reminds me a bit of Tassie (Tasmania to you foreigners). There's nothing better than riding in the country away from the prying eyes of tax collectors and people in volvos.

Hi RBD

Pics look great. Two questions:

1. What screen is that and does it work well? I'm finding it a bit breezy behind the standard screen and think a larger screen will improve things.

2. Did you fit the the end cans? The reason I ask is that I nabbed a pair off ebay and then went in search of fitting instructions only to find a different type of Akra end cans for our T. Assuming I had bough the wrong cans I didn't bother to trying to fit them. Guess what I'm doing later today :bigsmile

Cheers

Hi Adam,

The screen is from PUIG in dark smoke finish, imported from USA and works well.

No I did not fit the end cans, though I have fitted a pair of Akrapovics to an RSV Mille before without any problem - just make sure they are the ones specified by Akra for the Tuono or Mille and you will be fine to fit.

Hi Adam, I like the look of that screen too, if you fancy importing one let me know and I'll get one with you. (I'm only 15 miles from Cambridge so would be easy to arrange)
Did you get the Akra's to fit?
Cheers Darrell

Hi Darrell

Sharing the import costs on screens sounds like a plan to me. I'll PM my contact details so we can work out who's stumping up the credit card :)

As for the Akra's, I didn't get round to it but having looked at the various pics on this site it seems the older Akra's (i.e. ths one's I have) are a suitable fitment. Hopefully I'll get the time this weekend.

Rob - Thanks for the reply. Do you have any web links or contact details for the Puig distributor? Oh, I suppose the cost would be useful as well.

Cheers

Wow RBD, that looks great. The bike and the scenery. There was even a bit of sunshine in there too.

Hi Adam,

I got the screen from AF1 in USA, below is the website link. Cost is $85 plus postage, then you will get stung for import duty of about £20, but it's worth the cost, excellent quality and fit.I want for dark smoke, which is exactly the same colour as standard. Couldn't find a supplier in UK.

Hi Rob

Thanks for the link. I found it earlier on one of your other threads. We have placed an order for 3 so hopefully the import duty won't be quire as hefty once it's shared out between us.

Thanks

Adam

Great pics and thanks for info on Puig screen - just ordered dark tint. My 'T' is a '08 all black + AKs! Still looking for front fender extender. Last few outings been damp and ******! I'd like to keep crap off rads, etc.

even more stunning than i remember it,,,,i grew up in Peebles left 20yrs ago to live in the isle of man,,mmmmm,,,i am currently on 350 of my running in miles and the weather is killing me,,,,,think i will be heading for a picnic at st mary's loch or is that little cafe still there they used to do great sunday run fry ups,,lol,,,,great pics cheers

I can attest to the Puig screen. I bought one recently. It arrived within 5 days. The fit/finish/quality is excellent. Use the existing screws to install in about 5 minutes. It works much more efficiently than the standard screen.

Hi Weejock,
Peebles is not far from me, I'm in Moffat, and yes that little cafe is still there on the edge of St Mary's Loch!
Next time you are over, look me up and we can go for a blast!
I did the Isle of Man a few years ago on an R1 - that Mountain road is fantastic, never forget seeing over 170mph on the speedo and no one batting an eyelid!

Hi Wacker,

Did you ever source a front fender extender as I would be interested in one too!
