Tuning worth while?

Hi guys.
I have a 02 model RSV mille. I have kept it standard trim up untill now but as its in bits atm after i came off it im wondering if it is worth messing with it.
My question is, is it worth moderate tuning ie aftermarket can / street legal, chip, + hooked airbox. I wouldnt upgrade to 57mm throttle bodies and the can would have a baffle as dont wanna get tugged at meets constantly.
Bearing in mind money and time doing this, would i see a worthwhile gain without going all the way?
Simon.

can, hooked, chip, modded header ,gearing change ....its the way forward :) sorts out the midrange makes the bike a whole lot more fun

End Can = yes
Modded headers = yes
Gearing change = yes
Chip = yes (In conjunction with blue wire cut) or even dual active maps
Air box mods = yes (you have a choice of three options here)
Cam timing = yes (they are way out as standard)
57's = yes (after all else has been done) you may need to mod the fuel pressure)

Then learn to ride it in the fat part of the torque curve and no one will be able to live with you in the twisties or coming of the corners :doug

I have 57`s on both my bikes and they are ok and give a good punch but are they worth the cash?

Power commander is worthwhile too.

Gearing, airbox, modded headers (these make a noticeable difference) and exhaust would be my top 4 then suspenders and wheels.

You can get carried away though

Just to sit on the fence here

A well handling bike would far more preferential than a poor handling one with lots of horsepower and a shed load less dangerous.

Sidestand
Check restriction (wire cut and airbox)
Gearing not dear Groff sells Talon , Tash will probably do all sorts reasonable
Clutch jet 12£
exhaust (get a 50£ tune after doing it to check gases etc) buy it off eBay or second handAirbox is nice as it sounds nice but needs to be cheap o be justified or you just like it( I use a renegade I just like it
aftermarket chip

I think anything else is just fine tubing but that would be a good start

Redratbike is your man but yes it improves gas flow. It really works. Effectively gives the same power gains/delivery as a 2-2 (twin) system.

I have one on my track bike and the midrange is noticeably more punchy imho.

Makes a hoooge difference to midrange as has already been stated, My bike is used for commuting mainly and it sure helps.

How are the headders modded? I take it this is just to improve gas flow?
they are modded by a pair of italian super-migdet twin brothers enabling them to get inside the pipes and ensures all the gases flow just right to give you the midrange you require.
heres one about to be launched up the pipe

Spend ya money on the suspension first ! & learn how to ride the bike with what it has ... I see my customers all the time don't blink a eye at spending $1000 on a pipe which only give them sound & afew more HP & more money on all the other extra's but when I suggest they tune or service there suspension they say they can't afford it ??? Have'nt seen many people that can ride a stock Gen1 Mille's wheels off it yet , be it round a track or on the road , yet I'm asked to trick up their bike so it perform's like my 03R all the time , even tho they couldn't use what the bike has when they bring it to me ..

Agreed (See post #5)....I so wanna try Frankie around Hampton Downes well actually any of the N.Z circuits its been too long.
