I recently bought a 2017 RR with the Sachs setup. The bike jerks up and down on some corners and gives me zero confidence (the worn rear has lots to do with it, but it's more than that). I remember the difference moving up to thicker gage springs made on my other bike (I'm about 215 LBS without gear) and am thinking I should be doing the same here.

I wonder if I should do the same for the rear shock too. Anyone have an experience upgrading or modifying the suspension this way, or have any wisdom to share regarding this issue ?

Hi, I purchased the new 2017 V4 RR because I always intended getting
k-tech cartridges fitted to the front so didn’t see the point in paying for the Factory with Ohlins, Racelab in Bournemouth supplied & fitted the Cartridges for me & then set up the bike to suite my weight, they said the standard rear shock was ok & now the handling is amazing, Racelab fit a lot of suspension & they said the the K/Tech is far superior to the standard road Ohlins fitted to the V4 Factory.

In fact, I ended up doing that and more. I went with GP Suspension for the front cartridges (similar in quality and effect as the K-Techs). I opted to replace the rear shock with Nitron, then I swapped the cast wheels with forged RSV4 RS wheels for good measure (and a fresh set of S22s). It's like getting a completely different bike.

It's "Plug and Play" now, in terms of hitting a corner as fast as I dare, and letting the suspension sort it out, totally drama free, and with the control I never though possible until now. It was a $5,000 USD investment, but to me... worth every penny.

Old thread resurrection here..

Just seen this and clicked a bit as RaceLabs was literally just down the road from me and Paul did my old Falco for me!
