Anyone going to Isle of Man TT next year? would be good to see a few T owners over there.:thumbup

I am going to the Manx, but thats in Aug.

Anyone else going then or been before, it will be a first for me on the island ?

My first time also OT, I will be there 2nd June until 9th June. Cant wait. fD

Nah,....been there,done that.
I'm sure you'll have a great time, but for me,it gets more watered down every year.Loads more speed limits now,and I hear that next year there are going to be 'fan zones' for spectators. This is to avoid any incidents involving spectators and out of control bikes. Some of the Irish races may have to be cancelled as they cant make the circuits safer.

I think that if I have never been, I will not know that its changed. Fan zones sound a bit like they are trying to take some of the freedom of the TT away, but less deaths will not do the TT image any harm.. fD

I was living there for a few yrs moved back at the end of 09 (was living in Colby) but did go back for the 2010 TT but am giving it a miss for a couple yrs all TT'd out, want to go do a few more of the Irish road racing events, just be careful with the coppers over there (as a lot of uk coppers are called on to work the TT 2 weeks and they are very heavy handed compared to the IOM cops) other than that enjoy urself...:thumbup

Rexr, thanks man, I have small number plate, black visor, loud can etc. How strict are they..?

U should be ok with that, it's if u get caught speeding they will fine u big a m8 of mine got caught doing 50mph in a 30 and got 3 points (yrs ago they didn't give points but they do now) and a £270 fine which would spoil ur stay no doubt theres only 2 places on the island that theres no speed limits the obvious one is the mountain and the other that not many are aware of is from Glenn helen to kirk michael, watch out for the europeans as they don't give a **** about the uk road laws.

Mind you,......it was 1998!:crazy
+1 on the speeding heads up.I got nicked once at Rhencullen,....the fine put a huge dent in my holiday spending money.:bawling

I went in 1976 on my YR5, loved it. Camped at Onchan head just a walk away from Douglas, where we got pissed every night.
The atmosphere was mint.
The old Yam showed a few Germans on their BM's the way home on the mountain.
Enjoy it mate

Thanks Grin, I intend to enjoy it. cant remember being so excited about anything in ages. Two blokes, their bikes a full week of world class motorsport. Get in. Some say it is expensive, but about £400 for a full week, including accomadation (ready erected tent), and more bike racing than you can shake a stick at, cheap in my opinion..fD.

U'll have a blast m8 especially if the IOM gov get it right again unlike some yrs not far back, lots of great places to watch just get there nice and early cos if ur caught short when the roads are closing u'll have to pull in and watch from where u are stopped, I used to marshal at cronky y voddy crossroads one of the fastest sections (superstocks come through at 189mph.....:crazy before dropping a cog and blasting down to handleys and on to kirk michael :thumbup) and also Sarah's cottage in glen helen which is the hill before cronk y voddy, if ur on the inside of the track then ur stuck to where u can go either the mountain part or back to where u were to start with but if ur on the outside then u can basically go to other parts, anyway enjoy urself.

Thanks again Rexr, you are really getting me in the mood for the TT with that, they really are commited round the course, unlike race tracks, you dont get second chances round there. Off out to the garage in abit to start the old T, start her once a fourtnight and warm her up, I think thats the right thing to do..fD

Its not.:no
There was a thread on the 'other channel' recently,.....best way to create condensation and damage to the engine.

Got to agree with KB on this one. Mine stands in the garage with optimate on under a dust cover for the winter. Never saw the sense in starting them up for a while, as its the first few seconds when no oil on bores that causes the most damage to an engine, so mine won't turn over till its going out for a blast.

Thanks guys, I always do the every 2 week start up thing!!!!!!I will start a new thread on this subject. fD

nae the TT fur me.....but the North West 200 and the Ulster GP are def on the cards.

Plus multiple FudFestin wi a bit o luck

I'm toying with going to NW200 but my m8's talking about doing the nurburgring next yr should be interesting on the T I've done a fair few laps on tourist trophy (grand tourismo for bikes game) maybe about 500laps over 6 months th only thing it doesn't give u is the sensation of going fast and g-forces going round the corners but it does tell u where all the bends go....:)
