Does anyone out there have any tips on setting the CO trims?
I have read that Griff can do it, and make's a pretty fine job, but I would like to tryfor myself.

Bad points
Only had my mille for a few weeks and dont have much experience with them.

Plus points
I own and run Arch Motorcycles in Leamington Spa. I have a Fuchs Dyno and Lambda sensors, so I'm sure I can do it with a little advice.

Thanks :devious

You still need someway to mesure the CO

If it helps

This is what I got from Gabro:

CO+CO2 has to be about 15%
set the CO between 3 and 4.5
HC < 1000
O2 less than 1% (if you read more than 1% means that where is an air leak in the line)

start point:
- front bypass crew at 2 turns from fully closed, rear 1 turn
- set both trimmer at 12 o'clock (rear cyl one is near the connectors)
-> check TPS zero (idle know fully unscrewed) and clen the butterflyes before start

enjoy!

I do have a gas analyzer too, so I guess I need to figure out how it works. . .
I have been reading the workshop manual, which is pretty usefull, looks like I need to be able to measure both front and rear individually for co, using the sensor points on both downpipes.
Thanks for your input.

If it's on the oem stock chip the trimmers will be disabled on a 99 bike. Vac and Co have to be set by the bypass screws on the Tb's alone.
If you want to use a mercury balancer etc you will need a manifold adaptor from aprilia as there are no take of points on that year on the oem manifold.

When we set my Co2 ( Gabro chip activates the trim pots!) I checked the balance afterwards using vac guages and they where spot on.

i honestly am not saying this to be patronising or inflammatory especailly as i can't speel either but those are some expensive bits of kit lying around that you don't know how to use? did you just buy the place?

Who said they were lying around and I dont know how to use them? , I fully understand how to use the dyno and lambda sensors, just never used the co meter yet. I also stated that I'm trying to understand how to set up RSV's as I dont have much experiance with them.

yea sorry was a slightly out of order post now i re-read so i apologise, but it sort of read as if you just had an Gas analyser lying out the back somewhere that you bought but never used which sounded a little daft?

No offense taken mate, and you are partly right. I do have a gas analyser sitting out back, but it was given to us. The Lambda sensor setup is linked to the dyno, so I can graph mixture settings and Power/torque, but the gas analyser is stand alone. I was given to us by a friend who does car mot's, when he upgraded his kit.
