For an 05 RSVR the normal road mod of 1 tooth off the front sprocket is about right and gives a top speed of about 170 at the end of the staright. I expect the same applies for the older model. This will allow you to run through the esses at the end of the straight in 3rd and through Russels in second which gives the motor an easier time. This gearing works ok for me lapping at 2.08 and my brother lapping at 2.28!
