Hi guys.

Mi Tuono is the first bike i've had that you cannot turn the lights orf.

I'm doing a track day on Friday & was wondering what tape you guys use on the head lights.

I don't want to end up with a molten mess down the front of the bike :crazy
Ok, bit of an exaggeration, more like which is the best tape to use that won't leave sticky stuff on the lights when removed?

Thanks.

I've never known any TD organiser insist you switch them off or cover them up

The one danger is stone chips / flying debris. Replacement lenses are very fookin pricy on the T

Piece of decent cardboard and gaffa tape will do the job if you don't wanna cough up for shields

Buy a roll of Black Insulation tape.
It should last , As long as it dont rain.

Plus being Black will help make it go faster.

I just used normal insulating black tape and it worked fine. one roll for around 80p from screwfix was more than enough for lights and indicators. Have fun on the track fella

I'm with Nob on this one, lens covers is the way to go, i did a light at cadwell last time out ( havnt replaced it yet cos they cost a fookin fortune ! )

I just unclip my headlights then usebvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

That was some help from my polydactyl Siamese cat named Aprilia.

Unclip your headlights from the beam, tape the wires out of the way. I use green masking tape on my lights, the kind that isnt as sticky when you tape for painting a room. You don't have to worry about the tape welding itself to the lights as the lights are UNPLUGGED!

Have fun... stay out of the kitty litter.

Just used some duck tape. i had it on all day, then binned the bike.. it peeled off nice and cleanly and stopped any damage to the lights!

sorry Hamish, what was that you said?

long term - get some of those headlight covers - clear or whatever - a stone strike on a headlight is too ferkin expensive - then use tape on the covers rather than the headlights.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

A veritable wealth of information.

Fink I'll un-plug them, tape the wires out of the way & tape the lights up using that not too sticky masking tape. :rolleyes

Shame no one suggested that :thumbup
