Well its pretty much being a hate hate relationship with the Tuono so far im afraid to report :no (but read on), coming from a superduke I wont lie I was very disapointed with the standard suspension/handling, rode down to Colin at 100% at Cadwell a month or two ago and it still felt pretty crap TBH so forked out for an ohlins rear shocker (bike was only on 5k miles).

Been out several times on the road with the Ohlins and although leaps better needed setting up again, however Colin was not back at Cadwell till today and I had a trackday booked yesterday so had to suck it and see, had already had a number of front end slides on the road, was obviously not too confident on it as I had a very vague feeling from the front end which inspired no confidence coming up to the trackday :thumbdown.

Went to Cadwell yesterday with TuonoTone running in the fast group where I usually reside however would have been best off in the novices it was an embarrassing display (also to some old Superduke chums that were there with me too cussing my Tuhomo as they called it), the bike did not want to tip in to corners nor did it want to do anything I wanted it to, I was very unimpressed and never completed a whole session, pissed off and dispondant was an understatement, I was getting more and more frustrated fiddling here and fiddling there trying to get something ridable, if I had carried on there would have been two akras and metzler racetec pointing out the rear Biffa skip :rolleyes.

I had (today) Monday booked and knew Colin would be there to sort me out but I though there was no way he could transform this bike and thought I would be going home by lunchtime deciding if I should buy another SD or a Speed triple.

As it turns out Colin changed the rebound on the rear shock from 47 to 12 (don't ask :banghead) and took a couple of turns of preload off the rear spring (100nm rather than ohlins oem 95nm but im 15 stone kitted anyway) took it out for a spin after the rain stopped about 1045am, was an open pitlane so ideal for tweaking"¦"¦"¦..

Fooooooooooook im flying again, knee down hoonery and exactly what im used to again, the bike was working well and handling like it should :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup, holding my own again and showing the sports bike up once again, IM BACK!!!!

I know people are passionate about their brands but this bike is now a match for the SD with an Ohlins rear on track. I don't confess to be the fasted guy in the paddock or a track god but I know what feels right and what does not and you defo need to upgrade the rear shock on the R if you ride fast road or track your bike a few times a year, but after today with ohlins I was going faster than my old SD but defo would have gone better with 15-42 gearing rather than the 40 rear I had, I was having a great tustle all day with a mate on his SD chasing him through the mountain section with me right behind him and watching him jump it felt like I was in BSB :lol.

By the afternoon I going up Coppice and on the Mountain section for the first time stretching its legs and getting a feel for it, the suspension was maxed out it was evident feeling through the bike, it needed a touch more rebound on the front however there was none left :bawling, the forks could do with a service/rebuilt for what im asking of it but will have to see if I get round to it.

So im here to stay for the rest of the summer, hoorah, although I should have got a Factory in the first place :yes.

I'm glad you managed to get it sorted today mate, I really felt for you yesterday. The pics are great and I see you did learn a few things by watching me yesterday:lol

Seriously though, I wish I had booked today as well, it would have been fun once you got your suspension sorted, nevermind, roll on the next track day :thumbup

Was embarassing more than anything yesterday!

Yeah defo learned a few things off you buddy..............dont whack it in nuetral going round a corner :yes

I wouldn't mind but these things are supposed to be bloody hard to get into neutral but I managed it no problem, just when I didn't need it:banghead

Just unlucky dude. Not real damage done, and now your in the club too :thumbup

Glad your getting there, baised i know but yeah, should have got the factory in the first place...Was hooning round cadwell myself recently and she handled beeeeeeautifully !!

Well mate, you certainly look like you're making the most of what you've got! Great pics :thumbup

Nice one sherlock ,your looking good in the picks , so now you are feeling the love ,and mite stop regreting. buying it. Wen you are up there with the uthers for the Crash fest , arsk iff you can borrow one of the uthers SD's then compair the tow ,and iff you dont whont to go back to the Tuono , the Ciscilyen Kiss's are on me , theres nuthing rong with the Showa forks that a little revalving wark whont do them eney harm like A set of Ohlins internals ,and beter as they whont blow the Oil seals evry six munths like the Ohlins ones do :thumbup :rockon

Nope still got it. :yes

Bit of an update while im at it, front end has Yacugar internals and new oil, its better but still not "bob on". Still using all the rebound, definately needs a revalve, you can get the kit from AF1 but little point for me now.

Did an open pit lane at Cadwell the other week, bike was going well, had rear end stepped out on entering Charlies 1 on one session :crazy, best I could get was 141mph so gone for a 45t rear (was using 15-42) I was never out of 4th gear.

Heading to Cadwell will be there 8th and 9th of August with about 15 superduke mates its known as the "crashfest" dont ask why :eek, yes Freestyler you will be right some SD's will be getting dusted but I was actually quicker on the SD (was timed on my last sessions). If anyones local, worth popping down and come say hello. Looking forward to trying the Dunlop D211 gp tyres, soooopa sticky.

Providing I dont bin it at Cadders it will be for sale as of the 10th August, buying an MX bike for the winter and the remaining funds pay for house stuff.

If any one asks me about the T it will always be "shouda bought the factory" :thumbup dont get me wrong its a good bike, but not as flickable or good on the bumoy stuff as what im used too.

'Kin ell. I have had a wee slide at Coppice one time, red hot day and too high a rear tyre pressure, but Charlies 1 - surprised or what, never even think of it as a big corner, I am always worrying about losing the front on Charlies 2, never have, but it's my bogie corner, just can't get the confidence to really nail it, and it always costs me down Park.

The Ohlins forks on the factories feel much better, I had my Tuoldo Showas revalved and the factory is defo better, they are 'plusher' if that's the right word.

Doubt will remember to call in, but if I have a bit of free time I'll pop over for a watch. i am only in Barton, so not far to go really.

Im in Broughton, about the same distance to Cadders! Im sure your a busy man just like us all ;)

I was pushing it faster and faster round Charlies one, rear just stepped out and re gripped was proabbly on 3 inches or so but felt huge, shat myself, was not even a controlled slide (not that I do them!) Was running Racetec K3's with warmers, dropped a couple more PSI after that in the rear.

I like Charlies 2, blat it over the crest tip it in knee down all the way round, not many people bin it there but you feel like the front will fold, I know I can accelerate earlier (just like coming out of barn) as I dont always use all the track at either, I think Chris Curve is hardest to master.

Had a go on TuonoTones factory, your right its plusher and a far more planted feel.
