The Frozen ******* Wasteland!
I have a friend that was out on their favourite motorcycle yesterday and alleges that down hill, with a strong tail wind, and their hoodie nearly ripping off their head, that they allegedly hit an alleged 255kph (indicated) on their alleged speedometer. They allege that this is just hearsay, as those kind of speeds must be obtained on the track and NOT the Queen's Highways.

I for one am impressed as this must have been a lot of alleged fun. I cannot condone or endorse this behaviour, though, as this would be contravening many laws and I am a law abiding citizen. Has anyone here heard of any of their friends contravening the law like this? And to what extent?

As you were.

An alledged speed of 176mph was obtained by myself on the M54 motorway near Telford, Shropshire, on a GSXR. In a dream. In a parrallel universe. Allegedly. During a previous life.

On a closed runway between Newark and Lincoln :)

BTW Wikipedia lies -
Furthermore, the Tuono 1000 R has an electronically limited top speed of 249 km/h (155 mph)

An alleged reading of 160mph was achieved by someone ;) while allegedly traversing a very long straight Dutch highway on his Rsvr last April. I was as shocked as him due to his rather rotund physique.

An indicated 189mph on my mate John's ZX-10R........on the auotbahn returning from one of our Nurburgring trips..............:thumbup

ALLEGEDLY!!!!

Koolio... but let's hear from our alleged friends as to what their alleged Tuonos can do. If Nobbies alleged fat **** alleged friend can do an alleged 160mph (255 kph) on a FAIRED RSV-R then I am quite happy with my alleged even fatter **** friends alleged 255 kph on his alleged Tuono... Must be like whales and 'Busas. That rounded contour in the windtunnel is actually able to flow the air around it with less turbulance behind to drag and slow you down... :)

The same alleged friend has an alleged TLS that may or may not have done an alleged (just shy by a curly blonde one) 270 kph. I was told that it is allegedly hard to read a non digital clock at that alleged speed. And everyone knows that Suzukis are notoriously ***** when it comes to hi-speed hi-jinx. Just lookit those stoopid 'Busas.

I have nailed every bike i've owned to the top rpm/gear. Also plenty of mates bikes.

fastest was the Suzuki Hayabusa showing 296kph (import)
Also Gixer 1000's etc to not far away from that.

I used to do gearing tests/checks on the road by work at lunchtimes :) on the race bike.

Weeksy is a track dude, so I am sure that all speeds were in a properly supervised safe closed area.

Ummm, why is my nose growing longer??

I heard that it wasn't a C90, sean. Sources say it was the accidental ignition of a morning after haggis, curry and Scotch methane dispersal from your nether regions that propelled you to such heady speeds. "Wind behind you " and all....

38 mph doon a muckle brae wi the wind behind me, on a c90,,,,,

You been reading an old AF1 thread? He got 183mph or more from his C90, top man. Sean yer a Fifer, nough said. Give us some Corries.

Aldo.

Sounds about right Shvl. Thank feck were not in Fife.

Aldo.

I'm lucky to get over 40 mph at weekends due to the ****** grannies driving around the countryside.............................

I'm only saying that cause I work for the cops.

Germany, land of the autobahn is the place to go, 5 years there riding up and down the roads, indicator permanently on and pissing on the BMW, Audi, Merc drivers............... get oot of ma way , boxheed. 175 mph on the clock.

ALLEGEDLY!!!!

189mph is the highest reading you'll ever get on a ZX10's speedo coz they don't go any higher, i know coz i used to sprint mine at RAF Woodbridge
but i did get a true 190mph reading on GPS:thumbup

i used the bike every day as it was in the second pic, the numberplate can just be seen between the rear footpeg hangers and the mrs loved it on the back

299km/h on a GSX-R 1000 and then pulled another 1,000 RPM after that...

...and 264km/h indicated on the Tuono.

CTD wins with the GPS shot... :) And, methinks the overall speed demon award. Any loon that likes to go to Woodbridge has my utmost respect and admiration. Time, money, and fierce determination required for that kinda bizniss. Koolio and kudos, CTD.

i did go faster later that day but it was on a sighting run on a guy called Dillon's supercharged Hayabusa, got 198mph(through timing lights NOT indicated on speedo) but they shut the track so couldn't get me 200 BUMMER:bawling
