black and round

I'm getting Dunlops next Mongy. Qualifier 2's Now they do suite big twins.

Now the big question is do people take the wheels off and take just them, do they change the tyres themselves and balance them or use a ride in ride out facility. I'm tempted to use the ride in ride out malarky as it aint much cheaper off the net any more.

Yeah my neighbour is a bas for saying get the bike up on a stand and get the wheels off and drive the wheels to a tyre place and I'm like you Nob. Whats the point. For all the hassle they should allign the rear wheel as well. Never had the problem on my last bike. Single sided swingarm and shaft drive. Really easy to get rear wheel off. Miss my BMW sometimes.

bay ,this I have to look forwerd to , am love'n my new BMW , while the Tuono has a rest over the winter , wish I had bort one years ago ,insted of pissing aorownd with expencive KTM'S , I can now get three 6000 mile services done for the price of one 4000 mile service on the KTM.s ound .

It depends which sport max's they are pikey, there's loads of different types.

'what are they like' also depends on how you want to ride em and your expectations of cost, wear, grip etc

I had some of the RR's - good grip but chewed up like **** with hard riding

I like them too. we have had 3 on the nelli

D207 first which gave 2500 miles and only once skipped

1st qualifier II did 3200 but had more but was going on holiday on bike and had to change it

2nd got a puncture

3rd has done 3000 and still going strong with only a small hint of flattening due to crap weather[before feckin snow]

All 3 have gripped like gum

One of the guys in Superbike magazine loved them on his ZX10R

Top bloke at Lincolnshire motorcycles called today to say they are putting a new set of tyres on he tuono for me

So... have you taken delivery of your new ride? and what tyres have they put on?? Is it the Dunlops that you refer to? If so, ride the bike and let us know what YOU think - I'd love to know 'cos I need new tyres v.soon.

Much the same fur me wi the Qual 2s, reckon 4 k on a rear nae bother an been very good gripwise wet or dry.

As fur drive in drive oot, ye huv tae watch the spotty trainee muppets often given the job tae remove the wheels. Ah thought he wiz tryin tae shear aff the caliper bolts the last time ah wiz in fur a front. Nae torque wrench insight jist a crappy socket wi a humungouse bar on the end.

Too right

The monkey that did mine misaligned the wheel and did it up with an airgun. I had to borrow a 3 foot breaker bar to release it

I've used ProTyre in Bristol's ride in ride out service for years. Not the cheapest but usually have what I want in stock and they have a dedicated bike work area and fitters who just do bikes (they are mainly a car tyre fitter). You can watch them if you want and I've never had any issues with them at all - recommended.

each to his own chaps.. personally i never let anyone else fit my wheels, i always take em loose.

and even then you have to check they,ve put em on the right way round...

never trust anybody, there all tw@ts, and those that aint can go in the other corner with the *******s...
