I'm thinking of buying a tomtom rider satnav. Does anyone know if the bracket supplied can be fitted to an 07 rsvr?

Cheers

I bought one a year or so ago, haven't used it much on the bike as I didn't want to spoil the look of the Ducati or my current RSVR. They come with brackets for fitting to handlebars (standard, round variety), under handlebar mounted mirrors and a sticky velcro pad. I've just had a look at my RSVR and the only place I could see that one would fit is to velcro pad it to the tank, which personally I wouldn't do.

As it's difficult to look at the screen for long on a bike, you could always put the actual screen unit in your pocket and just navigate via the voice instructions. If you go wrong, pull up and then look at the screen?

Hope that helps.

Mate if your going to put a tom tom on and have time to read it??? you ain't riding it propley:thumbup.

Hi, Halfords are doing a My Way GPS(German design made in China, for £79...99p).Me and Ozz paid a Ton for ours!!Unlucky!!!It's about 4"x5"x1" ",with a uk map).SD card slot for downloading Rest Of The World data.(Not managed it yet).It will mount on a car windscreen or bike screen.Run it from your bike battery(cig lighter adapter)for power.I mount mine in the map/tank bag, running the earpiece(not provided)to my ear.I don't look at the GPS using the voice command for instructions.Regards AL

PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Stop if yuo fit it you will never ride it as it should be, if your getting one fitted by a goldwing:puke do not do it to a beast like the RSV PLeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaasssssssseeeeeee

Rsvr47,a voice in your ear for directions is not distracting.Do you never ride to new places that you do not have a clue about?Regards AL

Hi Maverick,I would agree I only use the voice directions in one ear.Understand what RSVR is saying but I don't use the screen.Regards AL

Come on people, we're all different in what we want. While Sat Nav might not be for all at least it's being fitted to a superb bike!

**** nav sure helped me in europe finding petrol and good roads, useful here inthe uk too.Nowt wrong with that.(just not on the bike everytime im out tho)

You might want to consider getting a Garmin instead of TomTom. TT admits that their bike gps's aren't as good (waterproof etc etc) as Garmins'. Walker (my bikedealer) lent me his gps when I went on my 4000km biketrip to the Alps and I didn't use it much, but it was convenient if having to get to a specific address or finding a petrol station nearby. Also calculating how long it 'd take until arrival came in handy loads of times :thumbup
