How much work is it to strip everything out of the frame of an late model rsvr? My diliemma is I have a guy who will powder coat my frame and wheels if I by the powder and give him a case of beer. Was thinking about going w/ red but don't know if it will be more of a pain than its worth.

white frame! go for it mate that would look really nice and im sure you wont regret using up some of your time!

I'm with BB on this, black frame and swingarm would look smart, reckon most other colours would look a bit gaudy.

Black frame and swing arm mate. Will look sweet.

To strip the whole bike will be a lot of work but can be done. Trick is remembering where and how everything went when it comes to rebuilding. You will also need new swing arm and head bearings as these will get knackered in the oven when baking the powder coat. Oh and wheel bearings if you have those done.

Been messing around with ideas for mine for a little while - how about black frame/swingarm and white wheels/plastics?! Wheels would be a nightmare to clean though:dowhat

That black frame looks great, Samgoon, and white wheels always look good - at least when they're clean. Bodywork needs something, though. Maybe a design on the fairing panels to break up the block of white.

I think if I wanted a black frame/swingarm I'd go for the carbon covers, the thought of stripping the frame and swingarm and it all working again as Noale created it would be a non starter.

black frames, white plastic and bronze wheels me reckon, like the late forged Marchesini. Strip down really boils down to your mechanical skills, I'd say a day for stripdown, and 2 solid days for rebuilt(also, enlist the help of a mate). If you go that way take your time, LOTS of hi-quality pics and label everything, especially the electrics. Also put any screw that yuo can back where it belongs straight away(i.e. when you undo the tank bracket, put the screws back in the subframe, they'll be there when you put the tank back on). I use re-sealable sandwich bags, they work a treat and cost is next to nothing. Only one item per bag, write what is it and you won't get confused.
Remember that you'll need to replace all bearings (headstock, swingarm, wheels) and probably the cush drive in your wheel, so add that to budget

My RC51 had a black frame and swing arm as does nearly ever stock jap bike out there. Wanted something unique and figured that with the white plastics and red decals that a red frame and wheels would match nicely. I figure if I take the time to do custom work it might as well have a custom look. Black and polished are usually the color of bike frames, so that'd be kind of generic.
