Hi guys, the other half's giving me (nearly) carte blanche however you'd spell it on a new to me pair of wheels to replace the ageing Fazer, I've gotten a dillema as in what to get.

Always had full-on sports bikes up til' the FZS but as I'll not be using it much a K6 GSXR750 or a Daytona 675 is a daft notion for a ride into Bristol for a haircut so looking in a different but still sports direction about the only thing I can see as a possible is a Tuono so doing some research on 'em, hence signing up here.......

Had a spin on an FZ1 a while back and tho' rapid it a) didn't pull the horizon into the past like I'd expect and b) riding position, too sat up and wasn't much fun holding on a 100 plus when you rather need to be using the bars to control the thing, not using them to hang on, it needed a fairing and clip-ons, so needed to be an R1, which brings me to the Tuono. Have yet to have a ride so can't say how I'll like the feel of one but local dealer's got a couple in and with a weeks' notice give you an hour to go on your way so think that's next port of call.

I'll be back.

Get a few hours on it and then decide

There again if you want a fairing and clip on`s then go have a ride on the Mille.

You can ride mine for hours in Calne and surrounding area mate... Long as you come armed with £3700 to take it away afterwards. Of course you get it all back if you don't like/want the bike.

I have both an '07 Fazer (called FZ6 here in the states) and an '08 Tuono and while there's no comparison in performance (T is WAY better), the riding position is almost identical (pretty much upright) which is why I bought these two bikes. If riding position is a concern, you can compare different bikes here ---> Motorcycle Ergonomics.

I've had 2 Fazers before my Tuono and the riding position is similar but the pegs on the T are much higher (thankfully)

Also, I don't think my T is any quicker than my old Fazer 1000. ..However I've just altered the sprockets and need a dry day at Donny to see the difference.

My T is a Gen 1 though, the RSV4 Tuono would be a different kettle of fish I'm sure.

thats a really good tool you found there Motorcycle Ergonomics. i was quite supprised when i compared a few bikes i fancy

had sports-bikes in the past, and to be honest the Tuono is a keeper. i'm in Bristol area too. is your local Fowlers?

Not Fuckups .... i mean Fowlers !! SP motorcycles in Exeter did a much better deal on the V4 than Fowlers . :thumbup

Sorry for massive delay in reply! Yep Fowlers is the one, to be fair to them they give you an hour on the bike and takes 10 minutes to get out of Bristol...... but do need a week's notice and this time of year's too greasy or f cold for a proper spin out for ageing me, they have an 06 in Frome tho' with 20 thousand miles on it which isn't much really is it as I'm not going to be out on it much sadly, I think going on what people have said as far as feel/handling is concerned, less tall feeling, might be more my kinda thing. Still want those clip-ons tho'...
