Hi!
After much thought & deliberation, I have decided to sell my Mille. For a number of reasons really, but mainly because I want to go supermoto instead. I will miss her, but I've had my fill of sportsbikes (for now!), and want to go supermoto. :thumbup
Now here is the thing, I came off last year at around 70 mph-ish, and grazed all the right-hand panels, tail unit, light surround & front fairing, buckled the rear wheel (somehow!?) & grazed the tank. I have since replaced the front fairing, tail unit + light surround, seat hump, rear wheel & indicators, so she's on the road again, but still not looking pretty (because of the RHS fairing mainly). The frame is fine (although it has a few marks from pebbles on the side of the road) as is the subframe and swingarm (apart from a small impression from the exhaust hitting it), and the engine is working lovely, and with about 12k on the clock, but, the bike needs a new rear tyre & the fork seals have just started to leak a bit, so will need changing. Harrumph!
I fear that if anyone were to come and see her to buy, they would be instantly put off and I may end up selling for a measly amount, just to get rid to fund my next bike. SO, I am thinking I may break her up & sell the parts instead. Its an R model, so has all the Ohlins stuff etc., so Im thinking I may get a bit more than selling the full bike as 'a bike'?
I was really just wondering if anyone on here has gone down this route before, because its going to be a right hassle I think, but if it will be worth it in the long run then I'll do it. :eatcorn
Anyone have any thoughts as to what I should do in my predicament?? :confused
Cheers.
Steve.
(ps, sorry this turned into a bit of a long post!!).
