Having riden both I can tell you TLR is nice in an arm chair kind of way, engine wise its great up top and not too bad in the middle :thumbup
You CAN make the TLR handle reasonable with some time and money, however you would be hard pressed to keep in front of an RSV (riders being equal of course) even with the extra top end.
If you are going from that to the RSV you wont regret, unless you like spending you time going flat oooot in a straight line my friend...........
Basically the RSV creams it, and with all the mods you can do its not too far off the TLR's top end mumbo. Handling is in another league, especially as standard. Hope this helps, just try a ride and see.:devious
thanks gents. how are the rsv's in terms of reliability? i have 41000 miles on the tiller and she still runs and has no issues. are there any known hangups?
Yep the good thing in thgis Italian bike is the Austrian engine Noo just kidding, but probably the same as JAP engines... maybe a little more mechanical noise, but after proper exhaust you do not hear it...
I havd a tiller and in my eyes the rsvr is a better bike. It handles better and it you treat it right no worries at all with the millie, test ride one and you will agree.good luck and hope you get one d
I've owned both! I can say without a doubt that the rsv is by far the best. the TL was fat heavy and with the standard rotory shock it had poor handling.
I always wanted a tlr and then I had one (only three months). put me off vtwins all together. My first rsv popped up for a bagain price when I was bored with my zx9 so thought what the hell, only sold it so I could buy a rsvr never looked back since.
Parts might be cheaper for the tl and the electrics work and the bike may start when you want it too but hey, when you **** you leg over a rsv you will not look back bud. plus with things going wrong with the bike, you get to know the bike better, well thats what I tell myself :lol still love the rsv.
on a final note, I still think the rsv has more power too
this was my tl, bless the fat over weighted, power horse!
