Yeh i know they are for blind folk...
I resized them to medium on photobucket but they came through this big.. bugger

Thanks Doc they come in other colors but the cops dont like em much they are good for drying your hands on wet days

I've got a set of Oxford LEDs that I think look great. A little bigger than what you have mounted and I'd hazard a guess a bit easier to see. My fronts are mounted lower than yours which I like as it keeps the "face" less cluttered. Both of ours are improvements over the dogs-balls orginals they came with.

Yeh your right mine are terrible to see from anywhere but up close and personal... Perhaps LED would be better what would i need to get to install them.. re - fuses flasher etc & have you got a pic of yours i can see... cheers Towie

You dont need to buy anything other than a packet of male and female bullet style connectors if your current set up doesn't already have then on the wires. The blinkers come with resistors to make sure they flash properly and other than that it's all systems go.

I haven't got any pics at the moment, I need to stick a few up so I can claim the T of the Month comp too! I'll post one on this thread when I eventually get around to it.

Cheers Deyago i will look into get some brighter indicators today.... led looks sooooo much better to..

Mine has a "rear turn signal integrator" under the seat, pretty sure the cylindrical item said aprilia. It was set up this way when I got the bike.

Rear turn signal is the right half of the tail light blinks, or the left half. There's no other rear signals. I have no idea if it's technically legal here or not. Much less in OZ or the UK. :dunno

Without finding the relevant design rule I can tell you with a fair amount of confidence that the coppers would get the ticket book out if they noticed them. Indicators need to be 30cm apart so that's one problem, they need to be amber and I'm sure they'd find others.

I'm pretty sure it's not legal. I am sure the Leo Vince pipe is illegal. Got a ticket the second or third ride on the bike.
Wrote me for speed, and paid no attention to those things.
Or that I couldn't find the registration or proof of insurance.
He just wanted the speeding ticket. :dunno

Our bike mounted police and traffic cops here in the UK are generally good guys......I have got away with loads of "technically illegal" mods etc......
You always get the odd donkey's arse but I suppose that's true with all law enforcement :)

Resistor required?

Hi - I've just put on LED's and think they look a lot better. Thing is I wanted to do it without the (backward??) step of installing the load resistor as well (waste of current eh). So, I got a LED flasher to replace the stock one, but blow me down, the LED indicators ALL flash when I click Left or Right. Seems to be leaking through the light on the dash and blinking all of them. I can get around it by having the original front indicators, until I get around to getting a load resistor installed, but a shame nonetheless.

Anyone had success without the extra resistor? just curious as it looks the resistor is the way to go... might save someone else the hassle of trying it my way. I thought the electronic flasher would do the trick, but no.

I can understand changing to smaller indicators but I find them hard to see, (I am not as young as I used to be). I give bikes a wide birth and let them get past me etc. but there are people who see M/C`s as the enemy and don`t look for the obvious. Make sure you give them time to realize the little dashboard light IS the indicator and they dont shunt you.

In agreement there, I'm all for visibility. I'm even loking at putting on some side-lights so those dosy cars dont veer into me on the motorway sideways like. :yes

My LED's indicators are a little smaller, but almost twice as bright as the bulbs they replace. I'll probably be copped for having indicators that are too bright, but better to be seen than bent and damaged.
