Got back from Le mans Monday evening. Great racing. 1700 miles since friday and the first time Ive done any distance on the bike. Great roads but lots of Police prescence. Anyway, the right hand and fingers kept going numb almost burning all the time and those roundabouts are tricky with no back brake,it gave up saturday, with a numb right hand.. The thing is my middle fingers are still tingling, does anyone else have this problem..

I do these days..Quite common among bikers and people in industry using percussion tools..'White Finger' the common name.Mine so bad now if weather cold that I can't ride..Left hand the worst for some reason, all my fingers on that hand literally turn white, and tingle for a couple of hours after a ride..See a doc, but not sure if any remedy.

I get pins and needles in my thumb and index finger. It gets that bad that i cant feel if im holding the bars. I usually have to stop and get some circulation back in them (any excuse for a ***)

Te cure is easy, if you are getting vibrations then don't hold on so tight, also I did an advanced day once and my instructor gave me a tip if you do get tingly fingers, remember that Chicken tonight advert where you flap your arms like a chicken, try it, it works, yes you feel a right knob but it works every time.
Of course singing along is optional

I get it too. Just taking a hand off the bars and moving fingers about a bit usually sorts it. Worse for me on the right hand cos its not so easy to take it off the bars unless I stop. Usually gone in a few minutes tho. If it's still bothering you then get it checked out. I deffo would not ride til you get feeling back tho mucker.:eatcorn

haha, cool.ill try that one johnny mate.
its true about the holding on to tight to the bars tho mate.
loosen your grip and it isnt half as bad.

If your getting bad vibes through the bars try getting some lead roll it up tight and then pack it into your bars or get some heavier bar ends. I did this on a SV i used to have and it worked a treat.

Bear's right - change the frequency of the vibes in your bars by trying different weight bar ends. I find the high frequency vibes of il4s are more likely to give me pins and needles than v-twin vibes but everyone's different.

Whoo just had a vision of hundreds of mille owners after a mass rideout of standing in a line, waving their arms around and singing plus dancing to.."Whoo whoo whoo the funky gibbon". (Copyright the Goodies circa 1974)

Yes, a sight to behold, all the Mille owners feeling their right nob and flapping their arms around chicken fashion.

Something else that might cause the tingling fingers is wearing ya gloves to tight just loosen them off a bit

Off topic..But 'White Finger' recognised as an industrial disease and you can claim compensation..Just don't tell them you ride a motorcycle or your claim will be knocked back..Mate who works for BT claimed..

ok if you work for big companiny but for self i'mployed not so easy wear do blame no were just crak on and enjoy:thumbup

hmm i vaguely remember having those kinda problems when i first got the bike, but back then i was **** scared and clinging on for dear life at anything above 0mph, after a few months i was still getting problems and despite holding on less tight and occasionaly riding with hands off the bars or one handed etc to keep hands moving around but i still felt the grips were hard

sooo i changed them for some medium renthal grips, was gonna go for the soft ones but they werent in stock.. medium is still alot softer to hold than the standard grips and they really do grip nicely, takes alot less effort to hold on or work the throttle since i fitted them and despite thinking the grey looks stupid at first they have kinda grown on me and im really glad i changed them

was a bit of a chore to remove the old grips (let alone fit the new ones..) but ever since i did i really appreciate them, i dont seem to feel as much vibration through the bars or have any problems anymore

its another thing to consider if you are gonna go to the lengths of fitting different bar ends etc

although i'm probably half the age of most people here so my body hasnt had half the abuse :D

Stranger things happen, but you may be able to claim anyway..The Government may pay out..:devious Ok stop laughing, but I've a vague memory of being told something among those lines..Though may just be senile..
