Any suggestions
When commuting in traffic find trying to stay at 30mph all most impossible. Either can hold throttle at 35mph, but a fraction off the throttle and no throttle at all, making progress very jerky unless I'm feathering the clutch. Running in 2nd gear

Hi Noddy dont think there is any way round this other than race map and pipe , i have a 17 and thats meant to be better but i cant do 30 mph smoothly have tried all gears . was lucky to have an 18 rsv4rf for a few hundred miles and strangely that was great at 30 mph . the thing is dont ride in traffic but here in uk there are so many 30 zones my bike has 20,000 miles now and is a little better than when new this is something i asked the dealer about when it was new , don't think " officer it wont do 30 " would ever work

Thanks Svenbeast, thought that maybe the case, but worth asking.
I have in Sport, so will try the other maps to see if any make a difference
Love the bike, probably not built for commuting

Is your bike a 16 , my 17 has different names for the maps sport is very on off with max engine breaking track smoother with less engine breaking , race is least engine breaking and best for town and smoother throttle. The map names dont really seem to make sense.

Cheers Svenbeast
Mine's a 16, according to handbook S (Sport) is best for road, T (Track) and R (Race).
I will give R ago and see how it goes, quite like the engine braking in S though
Will have to be in a couple of weeks, working away

Hi Noddy from what bit I know the ecu learns how you ride eg grab big handfuls of the loud handle or smooth roll on and roll off so when your back take it for some smooth rides and see if that works or if you can restore factory's settings and then teach it your style of riding

Thanks Sven
I will see if I can teach the ecu, always roll on and off smoothly, officer

Hi Sven
So put in Track "T" for this morning commute
It seems smoother than in Sport "S"
In S it wants to run at 36 mph to not be on/off. In T I can run at 32mph, so a definite improvement
All I need now is for the commute traffic to run at 32 mph or above
Now to teach the ECU, smoothly on, smoothly off, if that is possible with a 1100 V4

Found the best set up for this jerky throttle , on off fuel cut the stock bikes come with it's and ECU flash for a guy in Italy Gabro Racing Team . In the E.U. you can send him you ECU to flash or buy a new ECU flashed with his map he does different one's to go with stock pipe , Akra slip on , full Akra system or go for his Stage 111 airbox and ECU .You buy through Aprilia Special Part .com , new ECU 530 euro + vat+ shipping sending your ECU to Gabro for a reflash is 200 euro cheaper , cost me £ 18 to post mine tracked . the difference is huge to slow speed ridding in town and on speed zones and the airbox makes it fly to the red line pulling hard from 7000 ish. you have do throttle and handle learning , buy a set of cables from Lonelec and down load from a site GuzziDiag it is free but make a donation to the guy and that can do your throttle and handle leaning , also read and clear faults and much more
