Throttle body sync

I have been planning to get the old lady to CO/sync maintenance, however, i have access to carbtune. On my older bikes i had always taken care of the sync my self, but Mille is new to me in this way.

Is the AXONE required or do i get satisfactory result with Carbtune?
Is there vacuum ports ready accessible in Mille?

Recommendations?

Cheers

As you rightly said its a CO gas balance that needs set but that's not always the same as the vacuum levels.

You need to do it on a exhaust gas analyser and adjust the mixture to balance them. Once this is done you will probably find that the vacuum readings are balanced anyway but the gas balance takes precedence as you can hypothetically end up with nearly balanced vacuum levels but way out gas levels. Just re-read that and its very confusing, sorry. So in short, no the carbtune won't do.

As for the levels, on spoonz (the guru) recommendation i had mine set to 3.5% and it fuels very smoothly.

I will have to give the local workshop a call tomorrow ans how much is the CO levels and the tb balancing.

Dunno how strictly they adhere to Aprilia instruction, but I read that 3,5% works well.

Then after that a dyno run... to get rid of the 5000rpm "ditch"

yea you don't need the axone just an EGA, it shouldn't take long, probably half an hour so i wouldn't expect to pay more than an hours labour.

Ive set mine to 4.5 % as per Griffs recommendations, but aslong as they are the same, your sorted, when mine was dynoed they were set to 4%

It may depend on which chip you have etc but Gabro, Af1, evo etc all say 3.5% with maybe rear cylinder at 4% if you do a lot of traffic work (rear cylinder runs hotter)

Post 04 bikes you can't determine the overall Co level just the balance.
Most end up around 4% with aprilia guidlines 3 - 4% on Map 2
There is also nearly always a stagger in the vac after setting Co

I agreed a time with workshop on 3rd of Jun.

Furthermore adjusting the power curve is Powercommeander a must or can the power curve be adjusted with Milles own ecu?

Second job is to get rid of the "ditch" around 5000rpm.

Cheers

Ive recently set mine to 3.5 front and 4 rear and it runs very well. It has smoothed out the throttle snatch from closed
to small openings - like when negotiating a small roundabout - in the wet!!!

And furthermore.......... Id like to say what a pleasure it is to read such a word as furthermore:pirate

see you guys are doing it again! bloody talking about strange things! tb's EGC, Axone etc! what the hell are you guys talking about! :lol

I haven't a clue and I know mine needs doing so gonna get the guru Griff to sort mine out

Where do I get me one of those? Anyone got one that can be leant other? Are they expensive?

Not cheap or easy to come by as they need connecting to the take offs on the header pipes. The best option is to see if you can get to Griff or even better drum up enough interest and get Griff to come to you.
