Thinking of going Mille...

Hello all,

Currently riding a VTR firestorm and just want that little bit more.... :angry

One question tho, I do regularly take a pillion for reasonable distances... UK to Croatia and back this summer for example (this is unfortunately rare but you get the idea). What is the Mille like with a pillion? She is only little and doesn't need uber-comfort but I have to be a little reasonable.

Btw, anyone here looking for a Storm and some cash?.!

Cheers,

James

Hi James,

Welcome aboard, being an ex Storm owner I can tell you the Mille is everything the Storm could have been but isnt (Not that the Storm is a bad bike its not as polished as the Mille in certain area's).

Not sure what pillon comfort is like though

same here , I used to have a 'storm but once I got on the rsv I forgot all about it, they are poles apart, not too sure about the pillion either :D

Sounds great guys - thanks for the input... Just gotta get saving the pennies now...

Ive been a pillion on my own Mille and was quite surprised how comfortable it was. Im 6 foot and wasnt cramped but had to keep my head down to stop wind buffeting, mind my mate wasnt hanging around :pirate

James,
I have a Mille up for sale...and might be in the market for a swap, fo you have any info on the VTR or pics?

I have a mille myself but I have ridden pillion on my other halfs one a fair bit due to mine spending rather alot of time in the workshop we've done a few miles and I find it pretty comfortable the fact that i'm 5.6 and about 7 stone and the other half is 6.4 and 18stone does mean he makes a good wind brake, new he had to be usefull for something.:)

Same here mate; another ex-Firestorm owner.......great bike ! :thumbup

You WILL, however, notice a big difference in the Mille mate, mostly in the handling, which is far better due to the higher-quality suspension.

Enjoy matey ! :devious

Thanks for the response everyone - looks like a lively forum here. A lot of ex-stormers too - seems like I'm making the right decision.

Smiffy I have sent you a pm.

Cheers,

James

I've been told it is pretty comfortable as a pillion bike :thumbup You can make the position for pillions less harsh on the knees by fitting Falco hangers as they are angled less and are a little shorter so it brings the feet forwards and down.

Happy hunting :D

no passengers any more so cant tell you about the new milli but the old one i had (2000)
the wife was ok with it , i mean she didn't moan

I could take u r other half away for a few days to see if she likes it lol :inlove
