There's a Bloody Nera for sale on e-bay!!!

Never heard of a Nera before, but certainly wouldn`t splash out 11grand to a Salvage yard for one. Over the years I have saved a lot of money using breakers but not any more they`ve got far too greedy, far better deals to be had on ebay.
Anyone know the original price when new?

The NERA is a special made by Aprilia in 2004. They made 200 of them at £40,000 a peice. They weren't just that price because of the suped up engine, or full carbon fibre body or the titanium frame, You got special Aprilia privilages to go behind the scene at all they're races and even got your own team uniform.

The first person to get there hands on a Nera was Matt LeBlanc from friends! Aparently he's a massive Aprilia enthusiast. The one for sale was number 103. I agree that buying a second hand one of these is a bit pointless since you won't get the privilages let alone trying to fix a damaged one! The Carbon parts mut cost a bloody fortune!! But if i had more money than sense i'd defenatly spend as much as i had to, to get my hands on one of these. For me as a Loyal Aprilia RSV fan this to me is what mecca is to the jews!

This bike is the reason i bought an 04 instead of the later model, and the reason i got it in black.

Thanks for the INFO, but now knowing that I still would expect a clean straight one if I was shelling out that sort of money.

I agree, for that kind of money, you can pimp up factory with everything that the nera has and still be able to buy a beer(for the entire pub)

To me that's not the point, I want one of them 200. I know it's a rip off! If you really look at it, it doesn't even have any after market exhausts! For 40 bags of sand i'd expect it to be as pimped up as your average BSB Bike. You would have to be a monumental ***** to want to buy one! Unfortunatly.................................... I am one! I'm the kind of person who'd spend £15,000 just to own an R7.

What a ****!

Is that the Jews ? I thought it was the Muslims that went there :dunno But I know what you mean, although if I could have anything exotic it certainly wouldn't be a Nera, wouldn't even be an Aprilia, it would be one of these

Let the slagging begin :nana

That is a hell of a random bike! I wonder if it rides as good as it looks?!

Pardon my ignorance on religion! You know how most of us british whites are, Barely know anything about christianity let alone other ones!

Sorry for the sarcasm,it's been one of those days, every time I have to go near the Jobcentre I feel I want to rip someones throat out :dunno

Yes,that actual bike is raced by Alto Racing in Thunderbikes with Phil Read jr on board.

I think from an engineering point of view it is several steps more advanced than the Bimoto it's loosely based on. I was meaning to get to some of the meetings it was raced at last year but never made any.

That is the sort of engineering I want to get into, the Omega plates that form the chassis are the sort of thing I used to machine all day before redundancy struck.

I spent ages looking over this bike at the NEC last year, this actual model is raced with a Duc st2 motor due to the regs but think about one with a 1198R motor carrying virtually no weight........awesome

friend of mine has a nera, stunning
he uses it for its purpose & rides it as it was designed to be
Being one of those 200 is a symbol of having something unique

Another friend of mine has the rsv sp, a work of art with it
the adjustments, engine etc etc is phenominal
He picked it up for an awesome price
has used throughout the summer & even gave it a spin out on a trackday because his 02 rsvr was having some refreshment work done

I would sooner own an sp over the nera but thats personal preference for me

Now to own an R7, yes please

seen the vyrus race at brands last year. Won the race funnily enough. Was the first bike to put the power on after the hairpin!

They`ve just knocked a grand off it,still think there`s a bit of haggling too be done,

R7 Please!!!!

There were 2 on the isle of man last summer, and they and one unknown suzuki were the only bikes that could get past me on the mountain section on the only time i could get a good clear run all the way through.

They are awesome bikes, the guys that had them were mental, i dont hold back generally, but they had bout another 20mph on the corner speed than i could get out of mine.

I'd love to try one just to see if its all the bike or if the owners were even more insane than me:doug

I just went to look at the Nera, after asking online where the red mag wheels were, just to see it in the flesh.

That place does work to the bikes, to reduce the damage you see when there.

This Nera, has tank damage, swingarm damage (pre recall arm fitted), left frame dink from gear lever, nose cone..... well someone has already repaired the left half outside, quite well, but the hole for the mirror, reveals the thickness difference to the right side, also the very lowest headlamp mount, has snapped off. The fact that this wasn't repaired, means more than likely it can't be!

The left fairing panel has scratches, the right has holes punched through it, where the thing has whacked the rear brake master.

The seat hump won't come off, due to the cable appearing detached from the release pawl.

The rear hugger is missing, and they look to be in the middle of either removing or replacing the frame sliders (which on the left is ground away a lot)

There is no clock damage, if they are the originals? And the rad and forks appear ok, but there is the normal 'stamp' in the frame on the left lock stop.

The cans are missing, and it had the Akrapovic Evo system fitted!, also one of the link pipes is dented.

The wheels are wrong!!!!

It came with red Magnesium rims, and it has blue OZ's!!

Don't let them just paint them red when you mention it! (i suspect that is what may happen)

The rear rim has scrapes at the rim

The panels weren't fitted well, very loosely assembled, and fixings missing.

The bike was never 40k it was 26.

These come up now and again, and it would be cheaper to import one than pay this stupid money.

I offered him 4k as it is a good price for the state of it.

It has been track day crashed! All right side wear, and non original tyres for the mileage and type of machine, this is odd.

It has an airbox crank breather mod, with the pipe emerging above the top run of the chain.

This particular bike, needs a complete pull down, and rebuild ground up.

It has not been looked after it seems.

It needs a left mirror, and support, but there was a support on the floor that I think was destined for this bike.

They have an SP there too, which is fooked and they want 6.5k.....lol It has dented frame and swingarm, broken nose cone, and cracked side panel, and needs exhaust.

Hope the info is of use to you guys, both bikes should be cat 'c' due to frame and swing arms marked.

The SP has a dented tank (alloy!)

I will put this post on AF1 forum where I normally hang out, but saw this thread come up in a google search, so thought i'd reply ;-)
