Aprilia hose clips , a couple of months ago I had a water hose go on my bike , clip failed
And water pored out on a run out , that sorted new hose clips all round

Fast forward to today , nice ish day I thought I'd have a run out , started her up and oil started pissing out , hose under oil cooler off , hose clip still on it ,

All you Tec guys out there is it a **** aprilia clip or a presure problem as clip stayed on pipe

can you replace the clips without dropping the coolant? Mine havn't failed yet, but if it's an quick and easy fix, i'll sort it out...

yes mate but do it cold, did mine with water in , no probs . oil clips should be fine but not with bike running as its under pressure

One of my first fixes actually. It really does make one wonder wtf the engineers were thinking when they signed off on those effing clips as OEM.

Oh, and 'twould be "They are crap".... just sayin'...

I've ridden 12k+ miles doing laps of Scotland, Wales & Alps without issue so far, but I think I'm playing Russian roulette... which is a bit daft considering that I meant to fix this shortly after getting the bike..... A few clips cost nothing, but could really spoil a trip if they let go
cheers

The upper right main was the one that started leaking on mine, bay... When I went to look at it, it almost was ready to let go. As mentioned... it would have sucked donkey huevos to have that sucker let go at speed and puke the contents of the rad.

The dealer's test ride bike was leaking from the same clip when I was looking into buying a bike.
Talk about a bad advert eh?!!

Yep, they're crap. On my Factory the coolant started leaking from around the clip about 2 months ago. Took her to my dealer and they replaced it straight away with proper bulldog clips. Bloody funny when the hot coolant pissed all over the engineer as he loosened the clip. No really, it was.
