Aprilia are currently being sued.
The court date is soon i believe.
All parties have been advised to not say anything more publically because it can prejudice the case hence why it's gone quiet.
Scott's team apparantly have some very damning info from Aprilia's own test on his failed links and are confident of success but what that info is i'm not sure we will ever know.
There has also been a UK bike with a set fail recently so i heard. didn't result in an accident though as i think a dealer/owner spotted the imminent failure.
I think the law suit is 2 fold.
1. To recover the cost of the total loss of Scott's bike
2. For Aprilia to issue a recall to amend whatever it is they have found wrong.
I certainly don't think there is a straightforward answer to this.
I can't believe Aprilia wouldn't just change the links if there were a defect batch. It must go deeper than that
