The optimate 4???

D

I have just bought an optimate 4 from mdsbattery.com. It has been on my bike 24 hours now and all it has done is flash yellow, and occasionally go onto a solid yellow light to briefly indicate charging. It has never given any indication to the condition of the battery on the top 3 lights.

Is this normal or do I have a faulty unit. I thought after 30 minutes of connection the unit is supposed to give an indication of the condition of the battery. Or does the unit cycle like this for up to 48 hours before giving a battery indication light.

Turn it off at the mains, leave it off for 60 seconds or so and turn it back on..............I have to do this with mine (Optimate III) quite frequently.
There are other possibilities such as your battery really could be fritzed or it could be faulty (do you have another battery to test it on) as you suggest.

That doesn't sound too clever....as Kiwi says, try resetting by disconnecting from battery, turning off then reconnecting to battery and turning on & see if there's any change.

Dan, stand on your head whilst tickling your testicles shouting umba gret in a ***** voice
