Hiall,

Took 2 test rides today one on a Shiver GT the other a tuono r. Lovely day, 2 degrees and thick fog and greasy roads......... perfect !!

The Shiver;

Looks nice, very comfy with a soft seat and relaxed riding position. Sounds nice with a lovely crackle on the over run. The switching mode helps smooth town riding as in sport its a bit on/ off. In sport pulls well. A nice bike, goes well, comfy nothing to fault really.

Tuono;

OMG i need one of these !!!!!!!!!! in town could feel the bike desperate to get some open road, clutch a bit heavy. On the open road gently rolled the power on and WOOOOOOOOOOOOSH now i have had many big capacity bikes, but trust me i was worried going past the 6K revs in most gears !!!!
I loved this bike i need one. Seat is firm but ok, the tank is sculpted perfectly to grip with your legs. Sounded good on the standard can.

Well pikeman don't dilly dally get oot there and splash yer cash.

im looking saw one at the dealers where i took test ride (frazers of gloucester, we like these people always friendly and done us some good deals and are happy the whole family turning up to look at bikes) Got to a reasonable price but the front forks have seen winter and its done 17K seen better for same price elsewhere.

On a different note when is the big service on these ?

Good call pikeman - get yer wad out and buy it, you won't regret it. Couple of essential mods to do (if not already done), we can fill you in on here if you need advice

Sounded good on the standard can.

Now stop that crazy talk man!!!!! It needs race cans, nice and loud, to really finish it off and give it the required holligan edge.

I think the 12k is costly. I'm only a couple of long runs away, ****.

esential mods ?? i saw a 2004/5 with twin akras is that right i thought it was a single can those years?

The gen1 were single can. Dude's fitted a twin system.

12,500 miles service to be precise is not that bad, but depends on and if any extra work is required, my service incl valve clearances was about £300 (souther cross) (6250 mile was £250ish) add to that the rear link bearing in the swing arm saw it hit £340. Was recommended the chain and sprocket kit fitted for £170, but sourced it and fitted it myself for £99. also recommended steering bearings!!! at 13k miles !!!!!! well miffed with that one so not changed them yet, cant feel any notchyness nor odd clunks on braking, so will sort in a month or two, that was quoted at about £150 fitted.

So with the bits and if the work was all done from SC was looking at a about £650 - just what mine could have cost. Went cheap and have started to do the work myself now.

keep finger crossed for nothing too worn out or knackered!!
